Two months ago, at my heaviest non-pregnancy weight, I couldn't reach behind my back to fasten my sports bras (which had previously fit me just fine). I had to fasten it in front and then twist around to get it on (ladies, you know how fun that is!!). And the chest band totally cut into me to the point where it was difficult breathing. That was certainly a moment of truth.
Yesterday, I had no problem fastening it behind me. And it was comfortable - I actually left it on for the rest of the evening after my workout instead of feeling like I had to tear it off immediately, lol.23 -
Buying the damn bikini already.
I'm always waiting to be the "perfect weight" to wear a bikini. But after having my little one, I'm 30lbs down with 30 to go and I said screw it. I don't care if I'm not perfect, I'm so proud of how far I've come that yes I will rock that bikini on the beach!!49 -
Washing my most recently purchased clothes and seeing how much less space they take up when I hang them up to dry!30

Ran a whole 5k on treadmill last night without stopping to walk. Ran each mile faster than the last. 29:49 for 3.1 miles. Pretty stoked!39

This one is a mixed blessing - bought a cool old vintage cocktail dress on Etsy, worried that it would fit my waist since I tend to be thick waisted still and those Mad Men era clothes had tiny waists proportionally. Well... it does zip, fits through the bust, fits through the waist with room to spare (hallelujah!) but vintage clothes are not made with weightlifting in mind, it's too tight in the upper back because of my back muscles. It doesn't really show to me, but it seems I am getting too "yoked" to wear vintage! I'll take that as a victory.
Also good, it looks like there are a couple of inches in the seam allowance so I may be able to pull it off anyway.33 -
All today I was negotiating going home to escape a Noreaster or the gym. I went to the gym.
I finished week 8 day 3 of C210K, and felt like I wanted to keep going. So I ran 4.75 miles in an hour. Not the fastest, but I did it. Then I ran into an old co-worker I hadn't seen in about 2 years and 20 lbs ago. And she complimented me on my continued weight loss.
I really appreciated that. Even though I finally bought smaller dresses and had a 5 lb woosh this week, I was still feeling pretty down about things.30 -
Despite my overweight BMI, my waist is now half my height and my waist to hip ratio is considered low risk!
I also saw a bunch of pictures of myself from a recent wedding and actually liked the way I looked. No more hiding from every camera for me!32 -
I got my fitness tracker about two and a half years ago, around the time I started gaining weight quickly (I wasn't using it much for fitness, at first ). I've always worn it on the same notch, which made it just a little bit loose when I first got it but much snugger after packing on 60 lbs.
Last week, about 1 year after I started getting serious here on MFP, I realized how much it was moving around on my wrist. I had to tighten it a notch I've never used before.
I'm turning 30 in a few months, and it feels good to be in better shape than I was at 27 :-)26 -
Went to MD for annual exam and I explained to her I wanted to lose more weight but she said not to focus on scale as she could see I had much more muscle from all the exercise......She also changed diagnosis in chart from Obese to Overweight....not sure if I will ever fit in a standard BMI chart with all the weights I do with crossfit but I am so happy about my body changes30

I only slept for 3.5 hours last night (1 month old baby) and I’m home alone with the baby and a 3 year old all day. I have every good excuse to sit the kid in front of PAW Patrol for the morning, but instead I bundled baby into my carrier, put a coat and helmet on the 3 year old, and we played in the driveway with his balance bike, chasing each other’s shadows! It’s not tons of steps, but it’s more than I would get sitting on the couch!63

We started a new family tradition today. We’re visiting our adult daughter, and she and her husband did a 5K with us this morning. She said we should try to find one every time we visit. It was a fun and upbeat event and we had a great time!47

Was told tonight I was an inspiration. Had to explain that I did a hell of a lot more than just "not eat potato chips" but had my wife back me up on it.29

This morning I woke up overweight. Used to be obese for such a long time I almost dropped a tear.67

After a year of exercising my knees have finally become stable enough for me to do proper lunges without worrying that my wobbly knees are an injury time bomb. I also noticed that I can now easily do all my push ups on my toes!24

Doing 3 unassisted chin-ups with a 20 second hang time. I'm 64, and I'm just 6 months post shoulder surgery! I shouldn't be prideful, but I can't help it. I am so proud of my self. I am so determined to be the best me I know how to be!43

My old jeans fit without leggings! Now I will be able to wear them in warm weather too!17

Had totally planned to get fast food last night and didn't. I wasn't really hungry and didn't want that many calories, huge NSV that I didn't just make the excuse and stop!25

You know you've really lost weight when your leggings are big on you. They're already stretchy so I thought I won't have to worry about sizing down for a while. All my large size fitness leggings are big. I need new ones. Also my regular jeans leggings are all big. I'm hesitant to buy any pants until June.I know by then I would've lost at least 2 inches from my hips. I also prefer to buy during specials so that I can have different styles and color. It's still a good problem to have rather than gaining weight.
Also, I've decide to wear more skirt for the spring to prolong the need to buy new pants. I went shopping in my closet and found 3 brand new pencil skirts with tags. I bought them 4 years ago convincing myself at the time it fitted me. It's true what they say, when you are big you buy clothes that too small and don't realize it.14 -

I think that's amazing! I have never done one, it's one of my goals right now, and you are definitely an inspiration!6 -

Dawn, I'm 63. And I can sometimes do one chin-up. Be proud! That is an awesome accomplishment!

This happened to me too, first with the leggings I was wearing as pants while I was at my heaviest and no real pants fit me, and more recently with the leggings I wear around the house/to do living room aerobics. And both times it crept up on my just as you seem to be describing. I guess because of the stretch they fit fine, they fit fine, they fit fine, and then one day you pull them on and there's fabric gathering all over the place and they've practically become sweatpants. A strange phenomenon, isn't it?13 -
I recently had a team audit with five other coworkers from other areas of the state. I used to be the largest person at these audits (even the men!). I was the smallest person at the recent audit and it felt amazing.38

With correct diet and exercise added 16 pounds in 35days.. something I never achieved in last 8-9 years. Yay..21

312lb deadlift 6reps 2sets (I'm about 6' 185lbs)
Not a new pr, but the first time I've gotten back to this level since screwing up my knee...18 -
Yesterday I went to put on any one of my FIVE prettier coats for the first time in a few months. Tend to wear a hiking coat for doggie walks/hikes etc when it's cold & just sling on woolen cardies if I'll be predominantly indoors in civilization. It was too cold & rainy for no coat, but sadly, not a single one looked okay on me. They range from a UK size 22-18.
Popped into town & miraculously found one I liked in the first shop. I went to grab a 16, but my lovely hubs persuaded me to try on a 14. Thought there was noooo way it was going to fit me as it's long & I have a big backside/wide hips. In the event, it's like a glove...I was genuinely lost for words.
Sometimes these NSV's just hit you like a stack of bricks!47 -
Out walking last night, ran into a neighbor who wanted to know what I had done to lose weight. I turned her on to MFP. So three NSVs - one, old me wouldn't have been walking in the first place, two, compliment from the neighbor, and three, got to help someone else discover MFP!36

I realised the other day that I fit into all of the clothes I have.....
Apart from the pile that's too big and waiting to go to the charity shop. As I still have a little way to go (still undecided) I've bought a pair of size 14 jeans as inspiration to keep going (that, actually, I can do up right now - as long as I don't want to breathe or move ).
Also today, in a related funny (getting the most out of your wardrobe) moment, I realised I was wearing:
Size 20 coat (because I'm not buying a new winter coat until Autumn, and it's handy for layering up)
Size 18 jeans (have to be held up by a belt)
Size 16 fleece
Size 14 top
I really need to go shopping
