I can wear my favourite brand of hoodies again. It's been almost 7 years since I could wear one since their sizes don't accommodate plus size.17

I bought 2 pairs of shorts. I have not worn shorts since I was a kid. I was always embarrassed by my flabby legs, even when I was younger and thin. I've been working hard in the gym and for the first time in my life I am not ashamed to wear shorts. I was showing my kids my purchases and they were shocked because they have never seen me in anything shorter than capris. Big victory for me! I live in the desert, so suffering through 120 degree heat in pants was miserable haha!19

I’ve got a pair of size 10 jeans on! This style runs big so it’s more like a 12 and I have a little too much muffin top to wear them out in public yet... but I’m sitting in a pair of size 10 jeans and they’re all buttoned up!!!30

So... right at the back of this video from an evening dance class... there’s a woman who clearly has no balance, coordination, or idea of the steps...
But...
That woman used to weigh 385 lb and have ankles so knackered she could barely walk 600 yards in an entire day. Now she’s bouncing around cheerfully after an hour’s practice, blending right in with normal people. It’s like... is that me? Really? Are you sure?!

This seriously deserves an awesome!3 -
Not much of a NSV but I'll take what I can get right now. My knee is injured and I can't run or lift which is driving me berserk. However, at the doctor's office, they made me change into little disposable shorts - clearly labeled size small! Not too long ago I remember when the extra large hospital gown wouldn't cover me so they gave me an extra to wear over the back.

Started this journey 354 days ago in size 42” stretch waist pants. Yesterday I had to return waist size 38” jeans given to me at Christmas (never worn lol) because they were too baggy, left store with 36” waist pants. Wow I haven’t worn 36’s since high school 29 years ago, yeah me
Feeling proud, humble, thankful, determined, and strong..... thanks MFP Family44 -

So, I forgot to do laundry and didn't have any clean khakis to wear to work this morning. I had two choices: either grab the pants I know are too big even with a belt (size 42) or the ones that were too small the last time I tried them on (size 36). I took a chance and grabbed the smaller pair. I worried they'd be too tight but they buttoned up without any issue.34

Didn't even see your post before I made mine today. Sounds like we're in a very similar situation. Congratulations and keep up the hard work!2 -
I sat in our weekly Wednesday morning meeting happily drinking my protein shake while the rest of my department enjoyed the free Bojangles chicken biscuits sitting a foot away from me! I am a Bojangles addict, and I haven't let myself have a "cheat" with it just yet (saving out for a day when my exercise lines up with my chicken supremes addiction) so this was huge for me!21

Well done! I can confirm that Bojangles Chicken Supremes addiction is in fact a real thing9 -
I put my socks on this morning, didn't get winded, didn't "overstretch". Just put them on like a normal person. I am amazed at how much volume body fat has. I still have a ways to go, but 12 pounds evidently took up a lot of space.35

There is a lady where I bank. She has been asking me about my weight loss for months. I told her about MFP and how it has helped me with my weight loss. Today she asked again and this time with her list of excuses. I remember that they were Identical to the excuses that I made before I got with the program. I am not intending to put her down in any way but it was ignorance that bound me to the idea that I could do no better than I was doing.
My NSV for today is that even though the scale has all but quit moving and temptation is to give up, I HAVE NOT returned to my denial. I know what is true when I hear it, even if it comes from inside. If I want to be healthy I need to act responsibly when it comes to food and exercise. I am able to continue today what I was able to do yesterday. I know the truth and the consequences of my actions.38 -
Yesterday I was able to fit into a shirt I haven't been able to wear for a couple years. AND I was able to finish hiking my trail alot faster than usual last night.25
-
Today I wore my green winter coat with a cardigan underneath. The same coat where the sleeves didn’t fit over the cardigan this time last year, and that in November 2017 wouldn’t button without popping right up again, so I had to buy a new winter coat... hoping it will be too big to wear by November this year!17

This one made me a little bit sad honestly. While waiting on our lunch today at this little Chinese place, a couple of larger ladies came in and asked me and my dad if they could have our table since they wouldn't fit into the small booth nearby. My dad's a big guy, but not fat. I've been average-sized for about 4 years now but it still kinda gets me every time I realize that other people DO see me as that (average sized woman or even "thin" although I am not thin). I was happy they didn't seem too embarrassed about it though and we all just traded spots and all was well but I couldn't help feeling a bit sad remembering how I felt about squishing into booths not that long ago.33

I'm tearing up at work because this is so lovely. Best NSV.8 -
Another NSV to add today...
I’ve had a storage tub of clothing that is “way too small” sitting in my closet since I started losing weight six months ago. Most of the clothes are goal pieces, as I don’t actually know how much I weighed during certain periods of my life but I do know when I was wearing these clothes.
Every couple of weeks, I have been trying on the contents of the box and taking anything that “nearly fits” to hang up with my other current clothing.
Today? I emptied the box! I am nearly the same size as when I was my smallest, in year 9. I was 14!
I’ve filled the box instead with some clothes that are now “way too big” - I never intend on wearing them again and have already started donating, but I can’t wait to try these items on again in a few more months and see just how big they are.
TL;DR: my storage tub of “way too small” clothes has changed to my “way too big” clothes.
Feels pretty sweet!35 -

Just returned home after spending a week celebrating my son's wedding.
A few NSVs:
The first wedding photos have been posted and obviously the hard work over the past 15 months or so has paid off. Liking the way I look and, apparently, so do others because the feedback has been astonishingly positive.
Was difficult to log food while I was away - sporadic internet access - but managed to be down slightly (actually a scale victory)
The families had rented a huge house with everyone staying together. This was wonderful for both families to get to know each other as it was the first time meeting for all of us. The bride & groom and I had planned ahead of time that I would be the meal planner/facilitator/chef and it all worked out wonderfully.
Had a blast at the wedding as did everyone else!

I've finally got around to sorting out my photo ID (long expired passport and UK driving licence that is so old it's just a paper one).
I hate any/all photos of myself (note the non-profile pic lol) and the idea of having to carry a mini picture of me in my purse brings me out in a cold sweat, but it's becoming more of an everyday requirement (even just picking up parcels sometimes) that I've had to crack on with it.
It's a horrible photo (it really is - I look like I should be holding a board up with a number on it) but better than it would've been a year ago16 -
The past several weeks the scale has gone steadily up. Haven't been logging regularly, which is certainly part of it, but...
This morning I got new trainers for my birthday, and I promptly broke them in with a little C25k, week 4 day 1. Ran for five straight minutes! After I showered up I tried on the new-with-tags Michael Kors jeans (aaah!) I got months ago from a thrift shop (TWENTY BUCKS FAM) and they FIT for the first time! They're gorgeous, and the person in them is feeling pretty great herself.
I will however be wearing my stretchier jeggings so I can enjoy a drink at the Flyers game tonight without popping a button. The little victories are big wins for me, but the real success is seeing that even though my scale goals are getting derailed, my life and health are still moving in the direction I want!20 -
This morning my belt suddenly closed on the second hole instead of the first when I bought this belt a few weeks ago I held it up in the shop to measure and decided it was borderline but would just about close around the smallest part of my waist.12

I can fit in most size 16 pants pretty comfortably now. I won the serengetti badge on my fit bit which means I have walked over 500 miles. Went from a 3xL-4xl in shirts to an xL.18

Last fall I was doing really well with my stronglifts program, and then was down because of a shoulder injury (baseball) and a hip injury (from a dumbass fall). Stupid hip still isn't perfect, but it's good enough. Anyways, I have been fighting a mental block when it comes to lifting heavy... I'm so scared of getting injured that I've been holding myself back from pushing.
Particularly when it comes to deadlifts. The last few times, as soon as I felt my form slipping, I'd put down the bar. My powerlifting coach would tell me that I had it, but my fear stopped me.
The night before last, though, I was on my 5th rep of deads and even though it got heavy and my form started slipping, I still pushed through and finished the lift. It wasn't the prettiest lift, but it was still good form and I finished my set!
Hopefully this is the start of the removal of that fear... cuz I love deadlifts!15 -
My co-worker (who is on WW) and I got in a really bad habit of eating at our work cafe on a regular basis. It was a lot of fried food, huge buffet portions, etc. We made a pact on December that we were only going to eat there once a month, so far we have stuck with it, and even have become really picky about what meal we will "spend" on!
We were feeling stressed today at work so we went down to the cafe to check out the specials and ended up talking each other out of it. The pasta bar and buffalo chicken wrap just were not worth it today!21 -
I only ate two Girl Guide cookies. Normally I would eat six, seven or a whole box if given the chance.13
