I just logged my whole day of Christmas eating. HONESTLY. More than double my daily goal. Sigh... I have been doing really well at eating to feel healthy and well. Today I just let myself eat the rolls, and pie, and ham, and more rolls. I am not even upset with myself. We had good friends over, played games and enjoyed ourselves. Now back on track tomorrow. This is just going to be how life is. Some days we eat yummy food that is not great for our bodies. But it is only one day. Not every day. Then back to healthy.
This is probably nothing new for many, but i tend to be an all or nothing girl. So learning to love and love life without letting it derail me is a great NSV for me today. Merry Christmas to myself and Happy Holidays to all!31 -

Merry Christmas! I'm in same boat but still on the journey10 -
1) Survived the second worst Christmas of my life (the worst was when my son was taken into hospital as a poorly newborn - he is now a strapping 15 year old who only visits the doctor for his annual flu jab). Totally stressed, on lovely antibiotics for a leg infection and had a very difficult adult daughter to deal with, who did her best to make me feel like a rubbish mother.
However, I did not attack cakes, biscuits, sweets or anything else. I even left my dessert of profiteroles as I was not enjoying them and couldn't see the point of eating something that I wasn't enjoying.
The only enjoyable part of my Christmas day was going to parkrun, which, due to my leg, I had to walk.
I was so stressed that I desperately wanted a drink. I don't drink through choice. I haven't tasted alcohol in over four years and yesterday has been the only day in that time when I've wanted a drink. Luckily there was no alcohol in the house as I don't think that I would have stopped at just one drink.
Thank goodness it is over and my adult daughter is still in bed so I am not subjected to her unpleasant behaviour.
2) This isn't really my NSV but it kind of is, indirectly. My little daughter has her 7th birthday on Sunday. When I asked her what she wanted to do, she said, "Parkrun!". I am so thrilled that her idea of a birthday treat is to go for a run, bless her. There will be other things as well but she'll get her parkrun.36 -
Finished Christmas gift wrapping before midnight on Christmas Eve rather than 5am Christmas morning 😜👍24

Ate all the things at last night’s party (so many good cooks, so much delicious dessert), but am not following my FIL’s comment (“you’re going to have to ditch your diet this week, everyone else is!”).
Currently warming up for leg day at the gym and will stop by the grocery to pick up some salad/food I can eat (I’m vegetarian—everyone else is decidedly not...I can’t eat cheese and crackers for 3 more days for the havoc it’ll play on my digestion).15 -
Looking at my driver's license today...WOW! What a huge difference between then ( I guess I took the pic about 3 years ago or so) and now. I look like an entirely different person--100% different. The driver's license looks like I'm my own mother or something. Super humbling and mega thrilling at the same time!

My holiday season NSV is realizing I'm that young person who can get on and off the floor really fast and help all the old folks when they're exchanging gifts or carrying things. I'm not young, I'm 43. But it's nice realizing I can help my family members in that way. While I did a lot of this 100+ heavier in my 20s, I know it's much easier now, especially the getting up and down a lot from the floor!29

Blocking someone instead of giving them hell back and deactivating 👍😜23

Yesterday I managed to go straight back to my regular calorie budget on MFP without being tempted to carry on with an extra day of Christmas. All the foods like sweets that could be saved have been put in sealed containers for my birthday next month.20

Had a lovely holiday with some reasonable indulgences. Made a keto Christmas dinner for the family and a friend, including a low-carb pecan pie and low-carb mulled wine. I love monk fruit and erythritol!! Easy to get back in gear today because, even tho I exceeded my typical calorie allowance the last couple of days, I still ate low carb and with intention. Even while that annoying old Aunt Flo visited for Christmas. Feels good to roll with the holidays and have fun without totally derailing.10

I was brushing my teeth and my wife tried to pinch my side, as if looking for something...
She said "You know, a little bit of pudge is nice..."
Lol... she told me not to lose any more weight
I'm not, but I am strength training and feel fine without love handles!16 -

Sounds delicious! Would you be willing to share the low-carb pecan pie recipe? I’ve tried (type 2 diabetic) but mine comes out more like pecan bread than pie. I’ve got holiday eating mostly down except for missing karo pecan pie.2 -

Also, my old jeans fit again
I love your dress! You look gorgeous!3 -

Sure! I used Wholesome Yum’s pecan pie recipe, with her almond flour crust (I did half pecan flour for the crust). Watch the video to get proper consistency for caramel sauce because I didn’t and I cooked mine too long and the finished pie came out more fudgy than gooey. Flavor was perfect tho. Would make again but I’d cook the caramel less on the stove.

My Christmas NSV was my mother in law buying me the Capri leggings I wanted, and when I opened them she told me to try them on first because she was afraid they would be too small... they fit, with room to spare! Whoop!23

Got my haircut to a chin-length bob and... It's a simple, but understated ELEGANT look...I LOVE IT! I;ve gotten many compliments from family/friends about how fabulous the haircut is on me/makes me look. I also got THREE compliments from complete strangers about how cute my haircut is and looks on me. I got another complete stranger that told me how "beautiful" she thinks I am. WOW, that made/makes me feel like a million bucks (TAX-FREE). This "new look" makes me feel even more classier/sassier/younger than EVAH honey--BOOM!
I've been thinking about DARING to get my locks chopped for a while now, and thru down the gauntlet and did it yesterday. Ya know, it's tempting to think how cruel and mean this world is--but let me tell ya, there a A LOT of really wonderful, kindhearted, LOVELY people out here--I mean A LOT!!!!
it looks like a combo of these:

My legs are getting leaner. There is much less fat on the inner thighs, but the outer thigh definition made me do a double take.19

I wore a tucked in shirt today for the first time since high school and I've noticed several parts of my body are toning up, especially my legs. :-)24

Girl...absolutely YES--"boosted" is the PERFECT word/example/meaning! Also, what I've been meditating about this "adventure" in CHANGE for me and how LONG I "allowed/gave in to/bowed down to/obeyed/BELIEVED" that dastardly "fear" to hold me back as long as it did to do the thing! I'm sooooo GLAD I did. It is so cute/gorgeous and EASY to maintain and so perfect, so much more easier to get up a go in style honey. I LOVE this haircut sooooo so much. That blasted fear has robbed me so much in my life of so many things, even though a serious hair-cut is kinda intimidating, I've allowed too many little and big things hold me back from all kinds of dreams and goals--No more, this fabulous stepping OUT of my comfort-zone box lesson is/has taught me something HUGE and God willing, 2020 will be bringing me much more freedom from fear and the "mess" fear brings and keeps me from doing and being....so BOOM! Thank you friend for your reply!

Had a busy day and while out running errands my husband looks at me and says," I really think it's time to buy some new pants". I had to laugh because he was right. I had been putting it off. So I looked around and grabbed a couple different pair in different sizes not really sure what would fit. For the first time in probably 15 years I fit into a 14 with some room ! I have a long way to go still but what a great feeling! When I started this journey in April I was wearing a loose 24w or a snug 22w. Been smiling all day!! 😊43

Happy 2020 everyone!! @nighthawk584 what a fantastic start to your year! Congrats!!
My NSV: I partied my butt off last night. Had a great time, drank too much, but I managed to avoid the giant pizza that the group bought at the end of the night. I love pizza so much, and I really like that particular pizza spot - in fact, I recommended it to the group! But I just hung out while they ate it. When I got home I basically shoved an avocado in my mouth, I was so hungry. Then I ate some leftover eggplant lasagna. Went over on calories (vodka may be no carb but it is not calorie free!), but all things considered I made much better choices than previous years' holidays. Also, I logged everything with brutal honesty.25 -
I started a new hobby lately, made one thing, and liked it so much (dispite not liking many things about it when I made it) that I was afraid of making anything else and ending up with a worse looking result. I have been piling up supplies this whole time, thinking about making things, starting and then stopping at the first hurdle, and never ended up making anything. I have this weird mindset that I don't mind not doing something well the first time, but after that, my mind tells me now that I'm more experienced I should produce better results. This usually holds me back and I stop doing what I would otherwise enjoy.
Yesterday I had a lightbulb moment. I was thinking how I successfully dieted to a weight I'm happy with, and how many hiccups, ups and downs, imperfect days, all out splurges, weight regains after a loss...etc I had along the way. This thought was brought about by a huge cheese platter when we were celebrating the new year. I couldn't possibly log accurately or even guess the calories I had. I have been managing my weight for 7 years and I'm still imperfect, why do I expect perfection in other areas? I made something today. Proportions are all wrong, some features are not right, some details I wanted to achieve but couldn't because I didn't know how, and it's all okay. I'm determined to finish this piece no matter how it ends up looking, and then another, and then another. I see no reason why making mistakes should stop me from doing something I enjoy. It was a mental victory I wasn't expecting at all.42 -

I’ve always consistently worked out- hard workouts every morning. When I was chubby, I felt like I had to explain myself to people-prove that I actually was fit despite the extra pounds. Now that I look the part, I feel like I can just be & don’t have to justify that exercise alone (unfortunately) won’t undo a diet full of sweets!18
