I used to take care of a 44-stall horse farm...by myself. And then go home to workout. You need a more efficient system. Work smart, not hard.

    Holy mother of...

You don't like my suggestions? :(
I'm not sure yet, give me 6-8 minutes to read??
I actually read all of OP's post hahaha.

Oh okay! Whew, you had me worried that I was out of line with the suggestions!
LOVE the suggestions, but we have yet to see what OP thinks about it.
Personally, the waking up at 4:40 sounds good to me.. OP should perhaps do the workout at this time AND the running of the dogs listed on your last list.
That sounds more beneficial and OP will have a full day of workouts that actually FEEL like a workout to them.

    ....OP??

Edit: I would also try to build my own automatic/timed feeders if the cages are nearby.. Then again, I like building stuff.
No more hungry animals, more time for OP to relax a bit.

    I like your suggestions too!

This is why I only have 3 cats and a husband who can cook for himself. I like to keep things simple.

    I like your suggestions too!

    +1

I have a solution, but you may not like it. Get rid of some of your damn animals! It looks like you're spending most of your waking hours feeding something or taking care of an animal. Just a thought. Your day looks exhausting!

What he said. Unless they are not your livelihood (sold for pets/meat) and are pets maybe it's time to scale back on the animals.

Now that I read that they are food I can understand MOST of the animals but you still seem to have a lot of pets (dogs and cats)...unless you're eating those too.... why not scale back to what you can handle?

why is the husband not making his own breakfast and lunch? perhaps he could do a couple loads of laundry at night so you can squeeze in a workout. i work 60 hours a week, i have 2 small children and i've had a wedding, birthday, holiday, etc. every weekend since christmas, plus kids activities, etc. i still get to the gym 3-4 times a week. no matter how tired i am, i still go. only reason i don't - physical illness below the neck. my hubby and i alternate nights. he cooks and stays home with the kids on my night to go and vice versa. no one has died yet. you can do it. you just have to carve some time out for yourself and stop making excuses. i say this because i've been there - i'm too busy, i'm too tired, i work too hard, etc. i've said those exact things. the only way it will change is if you decide you are going to put yourself first for 3 hours a week.

So I have to agree with what others have said, this doesn't sound like the most efficient system for getting things done, although I don't have a farm so maybe I'm not the best person to speak...but I DO have a dog, and he's quite high-energy, and if I walked him six times a day by the fifth walk I'd be dragging him down the street. Why do you walk your dogs so much? Also, it sounds like you're on your feet running around all day, so why do you need an extra workout after that?

You said when your husband gets home you help him with "projects"...is that every day? Can't he let you sit down while he does the projects, since your days seem quite busy and possibly take more physical effort than whatever he might do working?

The day i wake up at 4:30 to do anything will be the day i set my house on fire and walk into the horizon.
I am venting. The system works that i have going-i am just worn thin because it seems like every problem has had a way of piling up at once.
I sell the offspring-but a bad hatch set us back 2 months.
Hubby isnt making enough hours at work to finish building our pens (all we need now is plywood) so i have 10 ducklings (being hand raised for breeders), 3 rabbits (being raised for breeders), and 19 chicks (meat birds) in a 10x12 bedroom extension. We should have had it done as soon as they were old enough to be off the heat lamp and hubbys hours got cut so now im scrambling to make everything work. Its one of those deals-if we have the time we have no money but if we have the money we have no time.

Im emotiinally worn thin right now. And to the smarasses who mentioned my spare time since im posting? Its called multitasking and if i didnt put this out someehere id probably lose my **** today. Bite me.

We're new to most of this as a group (i garden yearly, and we have had chickens fir a year. But niw im learning ducks, hatching poultry, and rabbits at the same time while trying to make a profit)

As a positive-i have sold 17 dozen eggs in two days.

I just need everything to level out, instead of a new emergency every day. Once i can make a routine it should help but first i have to finish my pens and get my poor stinking ducks to quit seizing. (Btw-dont use dumor brand feed for ducks, try to find game bird feed if you can).
