    If I knew where to go to get publish journal articles online which is the best for research I would give you so many articles about that.

    Big T let me ask you a question see where your knowledge is. SO well use bench. What workout will have your muscles tearing more for repair 3 reps 5 reps 8, 10, 12, 15 reps? Also how long does muscles take to repair? BTW I know because I tor my right pectoral muscle five years ago.

    im not going to pretend to be an expert, but like i said 8-12 is widely accepted as the best range of reps for inducing muscle hypertrophy i.e. tearing muscle tissue. completely tearing your pec is totally different, thats an injury which can happen within any rep range if the exercise in question is performed unsafely

    as for online articles try google scholar
    edit; the length of time that it takes for a muscle to repair itself has way to many vairables to gauge, someone on roids could be fully recovered within a couple days easy, someone who blasts themselves for the first time in 5 years could take over a week. sleep, diet, stress also all factor in

    Steroids are way more effective then you think. Recovery is way quicker than few days.
  • Yes Macro's matter....no argument there....but You can hit macro's eating MacDonald's...DQ, KFC etc.

    Any fast food resturant has "healthy" options...

    "healthy" is subjective.

    I could go to DQ and get a grilled chicken burger and a side salad and it would be 280 calories, 26 grams of protien and 3.5grams of fat...to me that is not bad, unhealthy or otherwise not desireable (it's one of my favorite meals there actually)

    or

    Grilled chicken salad has 170 calories with 24 grams of protien and 2g of fat.

    Personally I like two McDoubles with a McChicken in the middle. And yes... it still fits in my macros.

    Yes Macro's matter....no argument there....but You can hit macro's eating MacDonald's...DQ, KFC etc.

    Any fast food resturant has "healthy" options...

    "healthy" is subjective.

    I could go to DQ and get a grilled chicken burger and a side salad and it would be 280 calories, 26 grams of protien and 3.5grams of fat...to me that is not bad, unhealthy or otherwise not desireable (it's one of my favorite meals there actually)

    or

    Grilled chicken salad has 170 calories with 24 grams of protien and 2g of fat.

    Personally I like two McDoubles with a McChicken in the middle. And yes... it still fits in my macros.

    Steroids are way more effective then you think. Recovery is way quicker than few days.

    Taken at high dosage they can affect mood, cognitive function and motor skills and can potentiate cancer or induce liver damage. No thanks.

    We are saying you are not building muscle at a deficet...not that you wont reach your goals.

    Strength <>muscle, you cannot build muscle on a deficet and I wont even go to the steroid thing...

    What you are doing is losing weight eating at a deficet and building strength by lifting...if those are your goals great...go get it.

    just out of curiosity where do you go to school where your final is in may? thats pretty damn late bro, typically spring courses have started a week ago

    I go to school in Maryland. There is no school around here that spring semester starts at the end of April.
    true, i live in canada, i guess in the states the semesters run a little late
    as for the jealousy, no. ive made good progress, we're trying to correct your misinformation. like sezxystef said, strength gains do not necessarily equal muscle gains, and its near impossible (and maybe even impossible?) to gain muscle mass on a deficit. where do you think the energy required to build muscle comes from?

    Honestly you all just sounds very jealous that I will accomplish my goal. You try to say how impossible it is that it won't work. It works for me. Now find what works for you and achieve your goal. That the whole point of theses forums to get help in achieving your goal when you feel your not doing it correctly.

    Nope not jealous...note ticker I am about 1lb from goal for weight, have hit numerous lifting goals about 1% from BF% goal...

    We are saying you are not building muscle at a deficet...not that you wont reach your goals.

    And yes the point of these forms is to help people who don't know what they are doing and/or talking about...

    That's why you are being told...No you are wrong..

    Strength <>muscle, you cannot build muscle on a deficet and I wont even go to the steroid thing...

    What you are doing is losing weight eating at a deficet and building strength by lifting...if those are your goals great...go get it.

    Have you heard of calorie cycling?

    BTW I can see my 12 pounds weight lost this time around but could not see a 50 pound weight lost last time.

    I do calorie cycling that how am able to do this. I guess I should have said how I am going to accomplish my goal.
    I do calorie cycling every week and it works for me. My cousins came into town and have not seeing me since march 16. They saw my muscle mass increase and said I though you were lost weight. They did not realize I have also lost 12 pounds. Since they last saw me.
