Plain and simple, I started to run and bam.... shin splints...any advice?
Yep, do not run on hard ground, ie pavements, tarmac etc. Run on grass if you can.
Get yourself some Sorbothane insoles for your trainers, they absorb up to 90% of the shock from pounding the ground.
Bloody shin splints are a pain in the *kitten*, they are the reason that I have to train on the treadmill (I do, however, my treadmill, which is fortunate).0
