Bugger!! Off the bike for 4 days now with severe knee pain. Hopes of a 1,000 mile month have disappeared but hopefully I'll be able to ride in and complete the Blood, Sweat and Gears 50 mile race this weekend.0

At ytour age, hopefully you can use this lesson to come to terms with the need for your soft tissue to get enough rest and recovery to build itself back up for the next ride. The training effect/training theory holds true for all of us. Riding (or any exercise) that is in excess just tears down tissue beyond repair and leads to overtraining or what you are epxeriencing - an injury that needs time to repair itself.
