  • Somehow, I ended up being a groomsman for my brother in laws wedding. I am social phobic as it is, so I normally would have said no. I said yes because I have zero blood family of my own and I felt obligated. Thatis why I am trying to drop this fat.

I just did my Tour de Cure for diabetes 1/2 century this past weekend. I have a family fun ride in June that won't be a big deal, but my 4 year old is excited to ride with me so it will be a lot of fun. I have a fund 1/2 century in October (Day of the Tread) and hopefully I will be doing the Tour de Tuscon in November (if I can workout some of these scheduling conflicts and vacation time issues). I will also be racing cyclocross in the fall/winter.

I've built up a reasonably good cycling base over this past spring in preparation for my recent 1/2 century ride (I have no desire at this point to go any longer than 50 miles) so I'll mostly just be maintaining that this summer with some swimming to cross train.

My weight training generally takes the front seat during the summer months and I just try to maintain my cardio/endurance base best I can...but it's too damn hot to be out there cycling everywhere right now.
  • Jiu Jitsu tournament in a few weeks. But training never stops.

My son's high school graduation this coming Saturday. My daughter graduated two years ago and when I saw the pictures I was devastated by how fat I was. It was the motivation I needed to lose weight. Now, two years later I've lost most of the weight. My goal for my son's graduation was to build muscle in my arms so I looked halfway decent in my sleeveless dress that I would have never, ever had the courage to wear two years ago

Short term: I just recently decided to enter my first triathlon this summer. Long term: I will be 50 in 2015 and I will be as determined as heck to look and feel fabulous!

I'm getting ready to run my first 5k on Sept. 13. My goal is to run the whole thing (I'm on Week 3 of a C25K app right now), finish in about the middle of the pack and be able to still stand when done and not want to collapse!

Not using it as a conscious goal, but several of my cousins (whom I haven't seen in north of a decade) have recently gotten engaged- kind of hoping I get a wedding invite as an excuse to visit, and I want to go in the best shape I can be.
I was always the fat cousin from Texas that didn't fit in with my dad's string-bean-build family, would be nice to be at a normal weight WITH curves. Plus I just kind of miss a lot of them.
With FB and the internet though, it wouldn't be a totally enormous shock or anything though.

Well...social event-wise, my 20th high school reunion is next year, and if my class actually does something, I want to wow everyone. But that is really just a bi-product of my fitness event goals

Fitness event-wise, I am signed up for three triathlons so far this summer (2 olympic, 1 sprint), a 10K and a couple of 5Ks. I'm planning to sign up for a half marathon that is in the fall (need to decide on which one...or both LOL)...and if I get a new bike, I'm planning to do my first metric century ride....all culminating in the local Ironman 70.3 next June.

Disney World in December! I won't have fully reached my goal, but I should be within about 40 lbs of it and I will definitely be a whole lot lighter! That means less weight to lug around all day, fitting into airline and ride seats SO much easier. I'm also counting on all of the walking I'm doing as exercise to help me get around the park without being so tired. We went to Disney two years ago and I had a ball, but I was limited. I kept up as best I could, and my husband and son slowed down for me (other times, I sent them off on their own while I rested). This time, I want to do it all! It has been a great motivator.

5 triathlons this summer - 2 sprint, 2 olympic and 1 half Ironman. At least one half marathon or maybe a full marathon in the fall. Most importantly, keeping up with my nearly 6-year old identical twin boys!

First vacation in years with my incredibly hunky husband in October. Also my 10 year reunion next May. I don't expect to be down to my highschool weight, but I would like to be in shape.
