And I could wear perfume and do a nice makeup look to distract him from looking at my body. You're kidding right? No, I'm totally serious on my question. I know that comment is a joke, right?
I imagine she is quite serious if I am correct I my assumption of her previous identities....maya daya, catlady, bright crystal...
Won't we long before we hear about her dog that isn't her dog and the wine taster she recently attended wearing said perfume...oh and her fashion blog.0 -
You're 18 lbs over the lowest healthy weight for your height. So, if you're 5'4", that means you weigh about 128 lbs. And you're worried that your personal trainer is going to think, "wow, she sure is overweight." If you're only 18 lbs over the lowest healthy weight for your height, you're considered in the healthy weight range. I don't think the issue is that you have a "thick middle" - I think the issue is that you have some serious body image issues. You'd need a therapist to work that out, not slimming workout clothes. I'm 95% sure you're lying about getting comments from customers about your body.
Wow. I didn't put this all together. Thank you for breaking this down.
OP - she's right. You are a healthy weight. I'm confused as to why you would be so self conscious that you can't meet your 50 year old trainer for coffee without so much stress. I'm sure a lot of it is in your head...
Also, I'm 5'4 and 136 pounds. No one has ever come up to me to comment on my body, except for men at bars who feel a need to comment on my butt. And even that doesn't happen to often. Are you pulling these comments out of people? Where do you live? It just doesn't make any sense.
In my culture it's much more acceptable to comment on people's weight/appearance and thin = beautiful. I don't necessarily subscribe to this viewpoint, but many do, and so the fact that my stomach is quite flabby often gets comments.
Tiptoe - not sure what point you're trying to make, but that was personal training at a gym. Now I'm looking for a personal trainer to work with in the long term.
Thanks Caesar!
British - Good point!
ValGogo - not joking...I really do feel quite self conscious...0 -

HAHAHA, Love this!
The best way to LOOK fit is to BE fit. And if you're honest about your body today, you'll appreciate your transformation that much more tomorrow. I realize you're self conscious, but you just have to get over that. Wear comfortable clothes that you can actually work out in! Not something too tight you can hardly move or something so heavy that you're sweating buckets.This:0 -

Sweetie, you are looking for ways to trick a personal trainer into thinking you are fitter than you actually are. It is like going to a doctor with a cold and trying to convince him that you arent sick but still want treatment.
It is silly and more than a little crazy. Seek help.0 -

Hey, I'm sorry, but I think your *kitten* is sticking out? Just thought you should know...,0 -
I was more worried about the giant *kitten* imprint of sweat i kept having to wipe up rather then what i was wearing hahah, wear what your comfortable in if he is a good PT he will make you work VERY hard! You might wanna be comfortable0

Trainers, like doctors and massage therapists, have seen the crazy variety the human form can take. Don't let it bother you - it certainly won't bother him.0

Wear something comfortable, the trainer is not going to judge you because you came to see your trainer to help yourself get better.0

Hahaha Yes, I guess that's why people here were surprised that people easily make those comments here!
Wheird, yes, I see your point. I am more self-conscious than I ought to be...for me it's embarrassing to even admit to gym stuff/PTs that I'm trying to lose weight. It's as if, I know I need to lose weight, but I'm denying it too...don't want to admit it's true...
LOL Not a moment
Thanks Allons-y!
Thank you Wilma - I'll try!0 -
I do have a pair of yoga pants but they got mixed in the wash and now they're pink hehe.
I usually alternate between the same 3 blouses...I guess I'll wear the one that I like the best....
And I could wear perfume and do a nice makeup look to distract him from looking at my body.
To each her own, but I must warn you that the PT will most likely think you are being ridiculous.0 -
I think pretty much has hit the nail about being comfortable. Think about whats important. Are the clothes you wear rubbing in a bad spot?. No then good, are they breathable? Then good, can you move freely in them? Then good. In reality and I am not saying this in a mean way but I think of you might want to work on loving who you are as a person. Who care if the PT thinks you are big. If everyone was thin he would not be a PT because there wouldn't be a need for him. Be a but more positive you are doing something about your current situation and trying to lose weight that's great. You don't need makeup to make yourself feel better about that accomplishment! Take it one day at a time and keep logging in.0

Go to your closet and get that polka dot sleeveless D&G shirt that cost you 7 bills. It's easy to find because your beagle has been rolling around on it. Wear that. It's boxy so it will hide your middle. Don't worry about the wine stain from that tasting you went to.
Take a selfie and send it to your non-boyfriend boyfriend friend, presuming he isn't in jail. He probably won't respond because he's blocked you.
And yes, definitely choke the entire gym in perfume. Smear on all sorts of cosmetickery, and strut your stuff. Pay your trainer double from the allowance your dad sends you for necessities like more perfume and make-up. He will probably continue working with you if you pay him double.
Don't wear white yoga pants. They're tacky.
On second thought, stick to the DVDs you've been reporting to us.0 -

That's really good advice "if everyone was thin he would not be a PT" thank you for the uplifting words!
Galatea - ummmm okay?? lol0 -
What kind of people make comments like that to anyone? I find it equally disturbing that strangers or family/friends would say things like that to you.
Wear compression shorts and a workout tank. You're there to work out, not to win a beauty pageant. Your trainer will have seen many different types of bodies -- yours will probably be neither the best nor the worst.0 -
