Body builder or lean physique?
interested to see the answers here.........................can appreciate the work and dedication it takes to be in great shape............Men, would you rather look like a body builder or like a Calvin Klein underwear model? Ladies, would you rather look like a fitness competitor or a Victoria's Secret model?

I like a girl that i can workout with but it's not that big of deal it's what ever the heart wants
Nice topic btw very interesting1 -
I think the person 'inside' counts first .. the rest is icing!!
So either way, were I to choose, it would depend on the man.
Oh ladies? I would like looking like a VS model. Size 6 is
the smallest I would want to ever be, if I were able to get
there!0 -
I would like to be in between.. I like being curvy but want more definition..0
-
I would rather be lean, ideally like Zac Efron from Neighbours or Ryan Gosling0
-
I am only attracted to very thin men who are firm but without muscle definition. I would rather look like a V S model but I don't want to be quite that thin. Models are size 0 and I like being size 4. At 5' 3 1/2" I would have to weigh like 90-something to be model-thin. But I would even choose to be OBESE rather than to be muscular!0

I don't want to look like a bodybuilder and no matter how hard I try I don't think I ever will. I would like to be a bit thicker around the shoulders than many of the male models I see.0

Me in the end goal: Christina Hendricks...I wish! LOL
Guy: Don't be a peahead body builder or forget leg days.
Lean guys...remember to eat0 -
@Megan youve got the boobs for it
Have you seen my hips. I got that too. LOL If only I was in the 1960's. I would have the somewhat ideal body shape0 -
if only i was a cavewomen. wouldnt need to shave or do my makeup or anything lol0
-
Point taken. So much work.0

especially if youre used to seeing yourself with makeup. you start thinking you look like hell without it lol even though others tell me i dont look different hmm.. maybe my hard work is going to waste?0

I don't really care either way. When at the hospital for college, girls wear full mask make up on and I'm like...you aren't going to find George Clooney in Iowa0 -
lol! i never wear a mask of makeup. essentials are just a bit of eyeliner and concealer, but i feel i need it0
-
that's pretty much what I do. I don't feel like I need it though.
I wish I could get somewhat lean with keeping curves to stay on topic and not get in trouble with mfp0 -
A VS model in a size that screams reality. Just enough soft to balance out the toned muscles all wrapped up in a curvy attractive package.0

I think that to have a lean body it doesn't put you in a victoria or a fitness one, i saw on my own body that to train and to keep your curves add aesthetic and is just a consequence of a mindful training plus you have a muscle that is functional.0 -
Definitely lean physique!!0

A bodybuilder of course. preferably, more than that. it means alot more than just losing weight. no offence guys. but losing weight is the easy part. making muscle gains and getting huge is the hard part. I respect everyone's opinions of course. but I just think there is more to it with bodybuilding.0

When it comes to men, my preference is for guys on the leaner side. My 10-year-old son somehow got on a mailing list for Flex magazine, so every month we get an issue filed with these behemoths, who frankly scare me a bit. While I appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into building that sort of muscle (assuming it's done naturally), I think most of the men in the magazine have taken things a bit too far, and it's not a look I find particularly attractive.
As for myself...I just want to look like a better version of me. Ideally, I suppose I'd want to look like a model with a bit more defined muscle. More like the women in an Athleta catalogue.0 -
Lean and muscular...for guys
As for me... Defined... And just a better me0 -
For me, Lean, Defined and Fit, getting a bit old tho nowadays, but we can dream
For women, VS/Athletic does it for me. Not too skinny, prefer some curves Kelly Brook has the ideal figure in my eyes.0 -
Probably somewhere in between personally. More like MMA fighter physique.0

I fully appreciate a guy who is big ..but the dedication it takes to be a bodybuilder makes me think we can't just go out on a sat night for drinks and pizza on the walk home ..as long as he us bigger then me I'm happy..
Personally I prefer the athletic look in a woman I am constantly btrying to achieve this but I have to much junk in my trunk and hips that's won't behave to ever be truely lean..and apparently men like some hips!..0 -
lean physique0

Lean
Personally, I understand the question.. By bodybuilder the OP is referring to BIG, but I also consider myself a bodybuilder even though I have absolutely no interest in getting BIG.. I love the lean look... Plus it fits nicely in with my lifestyle..
I take my hat off to anybody that aims for a goal and gets BIG or lean, male or female!0 -

Builds of guys like Omar Isuf, Tom Venuto and Gregg Plitt.
At least you know they're natural and they have some great stuff to learn from. Have a lot of respect for dedicated people like this.

I do prefer Omar Isuf's picture tho, because the other two mostly have photos for shoots, so their BF% Is at an exceptionally low level (not for the whole year round) And I don't like the veiny look on low BF%. And since they are shoots for commercial magazines I'd say 90% sure there is some Photoshop work involved.0
