This makes me simultaneously happy and sad that I no longer teach high school art. I'd be so tempted to share this story, and parents in rural Arkansas frown on that sort of thing.

It took 22 firefighters to ease him out. That's got to be a record somewhere.

*Looks at statue; looks at self. Looks at statue; looks at self*

My thoughts, as well. Art is so subjective.

You must not be European otherwise you'd get it.

Not European (I do have all European ancestors). Are Vajayjays different in Europe?

Once in fourth grade, I heard that in some countries, they're sideways.

I'm guessing it was his first time inside a vagina since birth.

I thought it was that they spin the other direction. No? Oh.

In Europe, this is art. In some other places, it's NSFW)

I'm European and of the opinion that it's art (albeit not something I'd put on display in my living room). Your point is....?

Nowhere did I say that *only* Europeans would consider something like this as art... just that *some* places consider it NSFW... (I didn't mention any places)

I put in the NSFW warning in case someone's boss didn't like them looking at a statue of a giant vagina at work, the warning was purely out of courtesy. But I don't like putting NSFW warnings on things that I think shouldn't be considered as not safe for work. In Germany it's considered safe to be a public installation at a university. But in some places (like Bahrain, where I live) it's totally "not safe for work".... not my problem but I don't want anyone getting in trouble at work.

I guess he should have listened to the old adage and strapped a board to his butt.

I think my favorite part of the article is where they said the fire department wasn't amused.

I'm sure they went back to the fire station afterward and never mentioned it again and definitely didn't make any jokes about it.
