I loved Toy Story, Up, Finding Nemo, etc. but I have ZERO desire to see Frozen, it looks SO boring!

As a HUGE Disney fan, I thought it was okay, but not up to all the hype about it. Let It Go is a good song, but mostly because Idina Menzel could sing anything and make it sound fantastic(and for anyone who had never heard of her before this movie, please go look up Wicked) Otherwise, very disappointing for a Princess movie.

I dunno...I have not seen the movie. However, I think you may be onto something regarding the music. I agree the music is HORRIBLE. I actually borrowed the DVD from a family member and fully intended to watch the movie, but then I heard parts of the soundtrack including "Let it Go" and I was just floored -- I was like "This?! This song!?" because it was just so wretched and I can't believe people are into it. I'd heard it around in stores and such, and took it for another crappy pop or country-tinged song of horrible quality. The last time that happened to me it was the Lorde song "Royals" which I don't think is that bad, pretty decent for pop...but I sometimes am just shocked at the songs that gain mass popularity!

Anyway, after realizing how terrible the music was, I could not bring myself to watch the DVD.

(I'm a person who generally dislikes Disney and animated anything, didn't even like cartoons as a kid, but did enjoy several Pixar movies like Cars and Monsters Inc)

I saw it after it was first released, before a lot of the hype.....felt the same as you op. Big disappointment for both the characters and the songs. The plot was alright but that was the only thing close to good I could offer about it. Someone needs to do a review of Rotten Tomatoes, it may be aptly named.

I believe I saw another post saying they have no desire to see it, same with me. One thing I don't get is how much people like that annoying song that won at the Oscars. But that's just me.

I actually really love it more everytime I watch it. I have a two year old who couldn't get enough for about 4 weeks straight, so I have really come to appreciate the little things you'd miss in a single viewing. LOL

I wouldn't put at as the all time best animated movie, but it was very enjoyable. It is a Disney cartoon, so it is directed at kids, and mostly young girls. I haven't found any young girl who didn't love it.

For anyone who doesn't enjoy Disney animated movies, especially a musical, then this movie probably is not for you.

As someone else pointed out- this was one Disney movie where the prince didn't swoop in to save the damsel in distress. That is nice to see for a change.

The snowman was hilarious. I love the actor who voiced him. Without the comic relief of the snowman, it would be a very dark movie.

Saw it with my kids. I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. Pretty standard fare IMO.

But I'm 100% with you on the Avatar hatred. What an awful movie!

Do you want to build a snowman?

I wanted to punch my TV every time that song played. I don't usually mind Disney musicals but I didn't like this one at all. Not even the comic relief was any good, falling flat at every opportunity.

    0/10 would not bang

I know it's a farfetched conclusion on my part, but she probably has small children who do, in fact, like cartoons.

I like Beauty and the Beast, too.

As for Frozen, it doesn't matter if I like it. I have two young daughters, and the message of sisterly love being more deep and more "true" than romantic love is a good message for them at their ages.

ETA: I'd never watch this movie on my own if I didn't have kids.

It is NOT the only Disney movie where the prince saves the day. Brave depicted a very independent princess, and there are a hundred Disney movies that have nothing to do with princes at all. People also like to say its the only movie that shows sisterly love, but they need to go watch Lilo and Stitch!

I may have watched it once to see what the hype was about... but I definitely wouldn't be shelling out the money that I have over the stuff...

Disappointed the first time I saw it. The second time it was better. My daughter who is 3, LOVED it.

I didn't hate it, but I was expecting so much from it because of all the hype, and was a little disappointed. I like the main song, but the movie as a whole was kind of disjointed, the trolls were stupid and unnecessary and didn't make sense within the world of the movie. I would probably watch it again (I'm 27 and a big Pixar/Disney/Dreamworks/Tim Burton fan). But it's not a great movie, just a good movie. Tangled was better. There were like 2 songs from the beginning of Frozen that felt like rip-off versions of songs from Tangled.

You're right, Frozen isn't the only one where the Prince saves the day... but the number of Princes saving the day out number the vice versa still... and Lilo isn't a Princess that's why that movie is rarely considered when talking about plot lines.

With that said, I enjoy Disney movies of all sorts. They are lighthearted fun with usually good music (though I do like the music in Frozen, but I don't take it seriously and pick apart any of it).

It was horrible. I didn't understand the hype either. The characters and the songs were annoying at best.

I've seen it about 20 times because my daughter loves it. It was...ok...

Personally, I think my head will explode if I hear "Let It Go" too many more times, though. lol

It was okay. It didn't live up to the hype.

I agree... it does not measure up to past Disney successes. It will be forgotten in 5 years, for sure.

Now... on a side note... Avatar was a good movie, dammit!

I liked it. But Tangled was way better and it annoys me that Frozen gets talked about so much.
