then what, you just eat them?0
-
Yep. The milk and yogurt soak into the oats to soften them.0

I'm wondering how long is "overnight" I made a batch and apparently I stay up too late, and wake up too early.. :-S0

i LOOOOOVE overnight oats. Actually, I love oats period. When I mixed them with greek yogurt, they were thicker than I prefer, but what you mixed up sounds pretty darn good! And yes, you just eat them, or some people may warm them up.Thanks for sharing! :flowerforyou:0

I read somewhere that 3 hours is enough for "overnight." Mine stay overnight for about 7 hours minimum and they are fine at that point.0

I also use the unsweetened almond milk and fage yogurt, but I like to add a teaspoon of honey and fresh berries.0

I use vanilla yogurt and add honey and strawberries. Chia seeds are kinda fun too.0

I love them in the summer instead of porridge.
I'm from the UK and make mine as follows
45g oats or muesli
40ml apple juice
60ml natural yogurt
Mix well. It will be a bit wet but leave in the fridge overnight (about 8 hours for mine) and in the morning it's perfect.
I top them with 80g frozen berries and then by the time I get to work the berries have thawed and it's ready to eat, sometimes with a sliced banana on top.0 -
LOVE overnight oats too, especially when I am in a hurry in the morning ( which is usual) I like to soak my in kefir and yum!0

Thanks!! I'm guessing I could substitute the apple juice for almond milk?0 -

i am SOOOO glad i read this post!!!!!
there are certain foods that i eat everyday - usually more than once - and oats is definitely high on that list trailing just behind yoghurt, i have porridge every morning for breakfast and as an afternoon snack and then i stir in peanut butter and yoghurt and add fruit, but now that its getting hot i dont care for the warmness of it so i cant wait to have it cold but still creamy tomorrow....THANKS!!! :happy:0 -

I read a recipe for one somewhere that used pumpkin butter (like pumpkin cooked down to thickness with a couple ingredients), and such to make one that tastes like pumpkin pie. The extra protein and fiber from the pumpkin would be a huge bonus!0

Must admit that it took me quite a few attempts before I found the right combination of ingredients and quantities - my first try with Scots porridge oats and milk was horrible.0

Overnight oats is my lunch of choice...inexpensive and delicious.
1/2 cup whole oats
1/2 cup almond milk
1/4 cup ff cottage cheese with pineapple (usually use a nectarine but out of them today and the cottage cheese boosts the protein)
1 T ground flax meal
1 T pumpkin seeds
Pinch of salt
Sweetener of choice
Add a little additional milk if too thick for you. This will keep you full for hours and hours.0
