Binge eating is ok if the binge is in moderation and is with HEALTHY snacks, like veggies. But, like they always say, too much of a good thing is not good. If you eat the right type of calories (i.e., low carb, moderate protein and fat) you will feel more satisfied and be less likely to binge.

That makes no sense, how is it a binge if you can control it?

Right!? Oh and don't forget, they have to be the RIGHT TYPE of calories. lolz

Im 5'8, 156. Lost 13 lbs in 3 months so its safe to say 2 more months I could lose 7 more lbs for a total of 20 lbs lost in 5 months.

    Low to no starch
    low carbs
    high protein
    high veggies
    average fruit intake

15-30 Pilaties combo with High Intensity Interval Training everyday

No cheat days (a cheat meal, perhaps), good luck.

Definitely possible, but will take diligence and dedication!

My biggest downfall is not tracking on the weekends. Don't be like me ;-)

yes but probably not simple. If you want it, work for it! Hard!

There are different types of binge eating. If you have a small "binge" of say, cucumbers, you aren't doing any real damage. All I was say is that what matters is WHAT you are bingeing on. And the right type of calories portion of what I was saying has nothing to do with binge-eating. I was simply saying that your cravings to binge might go down if you eat the right combinations of food. Geesh, had no idea that my statements would be attacked and so misunderstood. These are my opinions. That's all. Maybe this is even being misunderstood. I'll shut up now since apparently I don't know what I'm talking about. :(

When I first got on MFP, I lost 25 pounds in 5 months, so I'm pretty sure it's possible ;) I didn't diet, cut out whole food groups, or do some weird restrictive thing, because that doesn't work for me. Smarter eating and appropriate portions most of the time, and lots of exercise worked for me. Good luck!

To be honest, I am just happy seeing someone put up a reasonable goal. 20 pounds in a month, 30 pounds in 2 ect seem to be the norm a lot of times with posts. Im sure you will succeed and like others have said if you do it seven days a week you're much better off. I am guilty of trying to have "free" weekends and all it did was stall my losses greatly.

I'm just so tired of feeling this way & looking like crap i hate having my pictures taken for this reason..

I am going on Vacation in about 5 months.. is it possible to lose 20lbs in that amount of time.. Dieting/Exercising 5 days a week..?

<looks down at stomach> Yup, totally possible. I've gone from 188 to 167 in a little over 4 months myself. Check out my profile pictures, I have dates on them so you can see the change I got over that time frame.

Well...depending on how overweight you are and how much total you have to lose. What is your current weight and what is your goal weight?

Chances are though that is a totally reasonable goal.

I'm 5'4 1/2" and I've had MFP set to lose one pound a week, but I've lost 13 lb. in 2 months so far. The first 2 weeks I lost almost 5 lb, but I'm sure some of that was water retention and stuff.

It's definitely doable - 2lbs a week is what'd take. How easy it'd be would depend on a lot of things, such as what calories you feel most comfortable eating, your starting body size and your activity level.

Yes. Very doable. ETA Make sure you log your food and stay under your daily calorie limit and you will do fine with the exercising five days. You may find you want to do more as you progress, but I don't think it is necessary as long as you are staying within your calorie limit. It is the deficit that will produce the weight loss. All the best!

    Definitely doable.

I've lost ~14 pounds in seventy days. I'm 5'0 and started at 135lbs. So, I definitely think it's possible.

This is kind of the same boat I'm in! I'm going on vacation in April and would like to lose 25lbs minimum and tone up MAJORLY. I'm looking in to getting a personal trainer at the gym so I really know how to use all of the machines. Good luck on your journey!

I lost over 33 lbs in 3 months .. so for sure it's doable :)
  • It's doable, and I agree that if you over do the eating on the other two days it may end up counter productive.. good luck...
  • Depends what you do on the other 2 days of the week.

It's possible to lose 20 pounds in a little over 2 months! Yes, it would be pretty hard, but very possible. 20lbs in 5 mo is 4lbs per month, which generally isn't very hard, its like cutting out soda and laying off the icecream, and not eating after 6pm. Very, VERY doable.

If you're biggest problem is binging, perhaps the best approach for now is moderation. Until you feel like you have better control over your daily eating habits, letting yourself over-indulge on anything, be it cucumbers or cake, is risking self-sabotage. I've only recently started so I don't even have the things I know are my 'triggers' in the house. However, I am not eliminating any food group and I don't feel deprived - work it and it works.

    Best of luck!

Doable and a healthy goal, especially since 20 lbs puts you at a healthy weight.

If you want to get looking really good, do quality exercises. I'd suggest looking for Bikini Body Mommy on facebook. I've been doing her 2.0 workout with my friends and have felt stronger, but also feel my body changing.

I was over weight and tried so many things. Different things work for different people and I was lucky enough to find one that worked for me. I lost 18 pounds in one month without much exercise and it's been a life changer. I'm a little embarrased to post my before and after photos here but if anyone actually cares to hear what I've been doing then I'd be happy to help in any way. Just shoot me an email at secretosdelara@gmail.com and I'll show you my before and after photos, and tell you about how things are going for me with the stuff I've tried. I wish someone would have helped me out when I was struggling to find a solution so if I can help you then it would make my day
