Why I shouldn't listen to my husband...

"You should make those cookie dough truffles," he said.

I said, "No... I shouldn't"

"They will be so good, and we can take them with us on our trip!" he said.

I said "I will eat them all."

And he gave me that LOOK, those sad puppy eyes that I can't say no to, and he knows it.

So I made them, and they are ~160 calories each. And there are now 4 dozen of them in my fridge.

They are egg-less balls of cookie dough coated in chocolate, and taste roughly what I imagine manna from heaven would taste like. Now I have to stay away from them.

I should just look at this as a test of my willpower, right?

I survived his birthday treat of white chocolate dipped Oreos. I can do this.

Maybe.

I doubled the chocolate chips and skipped the walnuts:

edit to add: I only used 1 pack of candy coating, because I made my truffles a little bigger than the recipe calls for.

    My advice is...
fedex them to me. I will take care of those for you. Yep. I'm nice like that.
    :)

I successfully avoided a box of M&M cookies and a giant Chocolate Ganache Bon Bon cake at work today (http://www.publix.com/food/catalog/ProductDetail.do?id=10055). Yey! Public claims this is a "surprisingly light dessert." I guess they mean if you are lifting it? :noway:

I would be sure to eat one after breakfast, one after lunch and one after dinner each and every day until they are gone. I might have to work out a bit more, but it would be totally worth it! Yum!

Why don't you just keep them in the freeze -- only keep a few in the fridge and it will keep you from eating 5 or 6 at a time cause you will have to wait for them to thaw.

If you really wanted advice about how to avoid them, I send things to work with my husband that I no longer want in the house.

Pretend that some weirdo broke in and licked everyone of them. Picture it now with slobber dripping off of them you do not want them. But you will gladly let your husband eat them for punishment of making you make them.

I actually did this already. I have them roughly a dozen per container, 3 in the freezer, one in the fridge.

I can't send them to work with hubby... He doesn't have a job after graduation (he just finished grad school) yet. BUT, he's on his way. He's got a 2nd interview scheduled for Tuesday. That's what our trip is for. If he gets it (fingers crossed) he'd probably start at the beginning of September, after we move up there (to Indiana, from South Carolina).

You are a stronger woman than I!! I like the idea of keeping them in the freezer though, so that you can only have a few out thawing :)

I have really strong teeth. They would start melting quick in your mouth. I probably should not make these...

Like making traditional cookies, the hardest part is trying *not* to eat a bunch of the dough while you're in the process of preparing them.

Keeping them in the freezer wouldn't keep me out of them. I bet they taste great frozen when it's hot outside. Like chocolate covered cookie dough ice cream. Yum!
