I guess nobody told this lady about the vast increase in cancer risk from alcohol consumption?

Also, did she buy organic liquor?

Why does donut beer not exist?

Donuts have yeast. Beer has yeast.

Beer can be made from wheat. Donuts are made from wheat.

Homebrewed beer is carbonated with sugar. Donuts are flavored with sugar.

They make donut beer. And beer donuts.

    Guinness Stout Chocolate Donuts

    Ingredients

    For the Donut:
    1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour (or you can use all-purpose)
    1/3 cup cocoa powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 cup butter, melted
    1/2 cup light brown sugar
    1 large egg
    1/2 cup Guinness Stout beer
    2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

    For the icing
    4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
    1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    1 1/2 tablespoons Guinness Stout
    1/4 cup powdered sugar
    pinch of salt
    sprinkles for garnish (if desired)

    Instructions

    For the donuts:
1.Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Grease 2 donut pans with nonstick cooking spray.
2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flours, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
3.In a separate bowl, whisk together the butter and brown sugar until well combined. Add the egg, and beat until it is well incorporated. Whisk in the Guinness, yogurt and the vanilla.
4.Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and stir until just combined - do not over mix. Stir in the mini chocolate chips, if desired.
5.Spoon the batter into the donut pans, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
6.Bake for 5 - 8 minutes, until donuts spring back when lightly touched. Cool in the pans for a few minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

    For the icing:
7.Melt the chocolate and the butter in a bowl placed over a pan of simmering water. Whisk in the Guinness, powdered sugar, and pinch of salt. Keep whisking until no lumps remain. Taste and add more sugar if desired. If the texture is too thick, add more Guinness. (you can also use coffee, milk, or cream)
8.Dip the top of each donut in the chocolate icing, and garnish with sprinkles

I totally get you about skewed risk assessment....... before I went to uni I worked in a small drugstore/supermarket for a bit...... one of my work colleagues told me how worried she was because she'd read somewhere (I'd guess the Daily Fail) that apples cause cancer and she wasn't going to eat any more apples. She smoked 20 a day...

now I have an image in my mind of smoking apples....
i've smoked OUT of an apple. does that count?

ETA: but, what i was smoking was organic, so that must've canceled out the cancer-causing apple, right?

You only get cancer if you eat the center of the donut.
