    Was with you until that.

There is nothing wrong with processed or fast food in moderation. It's not going to kill you, it's not going to prevent you from losing, maintaining, or gain weight. Please stop spreading misinformation and food fear mongering attitudes. Health isn't just a physical thing, it's a mental thing too, plus no one needs the extra stress of worrying about having a burger and fries every now and again.

Sorry but McDonalds in any amount is bad. Fastfood is not really even food. Go buy a double cheesburger from any chain and put it in a cabinet or shelf or drawer and forget about it. Go look at it in a month, year, decade later and you tell me..

Yep. It's anti-food. It will kill you dead. Immediately. That's why the sign is billions slaughtered. Stop the senseless food violence!

I heard that someone ate a McDonald's burger once and grew a third ear.

I've done this. I used to be really bad about cleaning out my car on a regular basis when I was in my 20's. At any given time, there was some sort of food item littering my floor boards. Specifically fast food. And yes, it molds. And it rots. It attracts flies. It's not impervious to degradation. Cellular degeneration. Entropy and heat transfer. Second law of thermodynamics.

There is no such thing as a "quick fix", or target your hard to lose areas, or cut out carbs and you'll lose weight!!

This is all false advertising so you will buy the books! Think about it! If these indeed did work, then there would not be an obesity crisis in North America, AND most of you would not need to join MyFitnessPal!

Sure some of these may give you the satisfaction that you just lost 10 lbs because you cut out carbs! That's great! Except it is not a healthy start and, when you do put carbs back into your diet, you most likely will gain it all back and then some!

Also, the media puts these models and movie stars on their magazines, and airbrushes out their imperfections! No acne, no stretch marks, no ugly mole! It is all unrealistic!

You are all beautiful and the first step should be to recognize that! Then the second step is to say what is best for my health? Do what is best for you but do it healthy!! Stop eating the fast food or processed food! You don't know what is in them!! Losing weight takes dedication and very hard work but you all can do it!! Healthy, positive, and happy.

Peace and love to you all.

    Nonsense.

If YOU don't want to eat McDonalds, that's fine - but in sensible moderation it is fine to eat.
and of course it is food.

Totally not getting what you are trying to say with the Put it in a cupboard suggestion - are you saying it wont mould, rot etc because it is somehow not actually food??

    Really??

I've sometimes put the left overs in my green recycle bin - this is collected fortnightly.
The Mcdonalds food breaks down just like all the other food and organic waste in there.

    This proves what exactly?? :indifferent:

Yeah, thanks but no thanks. I think your heart is in the right place, but processed foods aren't necessarily bad. I grew up being told that they were all bad and would make me fat. You know what made me gain weight? Eating too much.

I've lost 27 pounds in the last year drinking alcohol and eating food court pad thai. I also eat a chocolate bar, doughnut, or pudding almost every night if it fits in my calories.

This is my healthy because worrying about junk food only drove me to misery and a cycle of disordered eating.

Here! Here! If you listened to everyone nothing would be allowed. Food faddists, rigid eaters, and so on--I hope it works for you! I hope you enjoy your food and find pleasure in it--not self righteous pleasure either--real eating pleasure.
For the first time in my life I'm eating all kinds of delicious things and losing weight slowly.

I'm sorry..the "right way"? Calorie deficit, I agree, is the right way. But cutting out foods or trying to label them "bad" is a fad in it's own way too.

sure but i dont think that was her entire motive with this post. when i first realized how horribly i was treating my body by indulging in lots and lots of fried foods, i was totally anti-fast food as well. it takes time to find the balance! i think OP just wanted to lift people up and show them that a healthy lifestyle is the way to go

So eating fried, processed, or fast foods automatically means you don't have a healthy lifestyle?

Actually, a low-carb diet does help individuals with diabetes, insulin resistance, PCOS, and other endocrine diseases, lose weight.
