Oh I think I will have to try these! I like replacing cooking recipes with apple sauce in place of the oil it seems to make the food more moist!0

I just tossed this into my recipe program; I used Quaker rolled oats, subbed the oil with unsweetened applesauce, and here is the breakdown per cookie:
60 Calories
1g Fat (7.5% cals from fat based on 2000 cals/day)
1g Protein
13g Carbohydrates
1g Dietary Fiber
0g Cholesterol
1mg Sodium
Exchanges: ½ Grain (Starch); ½ Fruit

I just stuck my first batch in the oven. I used apple sauce in place of the oil and calculated that each cookie will be 61 calories. I can not wait to see how they taste when finished.0

Has anyone tried this recipe using flax seed in place of the oil? I made some banana bread doing that and it worked fine.0

I made these and added a little cinnamon and nutmeg. Very tasty. My little guy loved them too.

I have a silly question, as I don't know much about baking... but from other recipes and threads, I've heard that you can sometimes replace oil with applesauce... does anyone think that would work with this particular recipe? If I can't substitute the full 1/3c of oil, maybe half that amount with the applesauce?

I havent tried this recipe yet, but normally when you sub apple sauce in its a 1:1 ratio.... I plan on tryig these with apple sauce soon ish0 -
