Are Nuts still allowed?

Nuts are very nutritious and good for you. Fat isn't bad at all. So eat nuts and be merry! However, it is easy to overeat them, so make sure you're eating a proper serving size.0

Peanuts are legumes and responsible for most diseases
Yes, loveofpeanutbutteritis. It's fatal.
I can vouch for this, my friend had it. Believe us, we're people of the internet0 -
My best advice?
Don't think of anything as 'not allowed' unless there's a health reason that requires you doing so.
Nuts are still allowed. Yeah, peanuts are a legume... but that's not the point. They're still allowed, too.
I like eating the nut mixes. The ones that have almonds, cashews, peanuts, raisins, and sometimes (because I'm a rebel) chocolate chips or whatever. A handful of nuts or trail mix is my favorite post work out snack.0 -
Emerald makes 100 calorie packages of mixed walnuts and almonds... you don't get a ton of nuts but because they are prepackaged, you aren't as likely to sit down and eat a whole can.0

Love nuts. In and around my mouth. Wait, what?
Well Ya-Ba-Da-Ba-Do ! :laugh:0 -
I eat nuts daily. In fact I just had a cup of mixed nuts.0

Allowed ? Try recommended! lol. Seriously, fat-rich foods fill you, thus making it easier to eat less and stick to the calorie deficit you need to lose weight. Same with protein-rich foods.0

I have 70g of mixed nuts and raisins after dinner most evenings currently.
Not done me any harm. I love nuts.0 -
YES! Nuts are filled with monounsaturated fats (the good kind)! Although they can be calorically dense, the nutritional benefits far outweigh the calories. A typical serving size of nuts is ~2 oz, or a handful. Cashews, almonds, brazil nuts, peanuts, macadamia nuts... They're all good!0

I'm a big fan of nuts, all of them (almonds, cashews, pistachios, peanuts, etc...) but now that I'm in my path to lose weight, are they still allowed? I know they're very rich in nutrients, but also in fats...
Can I still eat nuts? what are the best (healthiest) nuts?
Thanks a lot!
fat doesn't make you fat...dietary fat is an essential macro nutrient...yes, fat is calorie dense...but it doesn't matter if you're hitting your calorie goals. Nuts are one of the most healthful foods on the planet...conversely, there are a lot of nutrient void foods that also have little in the way of nutrition. I only mention it because calories have nothing to do with actual nutrition...a calorie is just a unit of energy.0 -
As others have said portion control is vital with nuts, a single almond is about 7 calories, and a single cashew is about 9.
I have a daily snack of 7 almonds, and 7 cashews, a total of 110 calories. Of course if I ate one less cashew it would be a nice round figure of 100 calories.0 -
