I love the Einstein quote about the mysterious (top of page 2, from @weavernv).

Here's a favorite of mine that expresses a facet of the mystery:

"In reality time and space exist in you; you do not exist in them. The mind creates time and space and takes its own creation for reality."

    2 favorite quotes:

"We may not have it all together, but together we have it all"

"It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all"

I always think of the first one when I feel like things could not get worse, I recite this quote and remember that as long as I have my husband, my daughter, my family and my health, everything else is replaceable.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure it came out more like, "Arggggurrrrgggggghhhhhaaaapppppooooooogrraaaahhhhh."

Anyways, what you said reminded me of a great Mark Twain quote:

"I believe the beauty of the word mankind is revealed by the two words that make it up. Mank and Ind, what do these words mean?"

THIS omg I'm laughing so hard XD

I've always liked "No-one can make you feel inferior without your consent" and "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."

I have a bunch that I love to use when the time is appropriate. Sometimes I pull them out at inappropriate times...

A couple I claim as original. The rest I have no idea where they came from.

Difficult we do every day.... Impossible just takes a bit longer....

When I was i my 20's, I spent 80% of my money on booze, women and cigarettes. The rest I just wasted....

I wish I had been born rich, instead of good lookin'

I'll stop there. This thread will come around again...

"There's an old saying - that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger, I don't believe that. I think the things that try to kill you make you angry and sad. Strength comes from the good things, your family, your friends, the satisfaction of hard work. Those are the things that will keep you whole, those are the things to hold onto when you're broken." -Jax Teller

“Dear Die-ary, there's nothing terribly wrong with feeling lost, so long as that feeling precedes some plan on your part to actually do something about it. Too often a person grows complacent with their disillusionment, perpetually wearing their "discomfort" like a favorite shirt. I can't say I'm very pleased with where my life is just now... but I can't help but look forward to where it's going.”
