Pancakes vs Pizza

So here's a question about making a smarter decision for my cheat meal...

What is a better "cheat meal"...pancakes or pizza? I know neither of these are healthy, but which would you go with, or which is the lesser of the two evils? Thanks in advance.

I don't like pancakes, so I eat pizza instead   I ate pizza three days last week, and it was delicious. So many options  And pizza is so easy to fit into my daily macros. I do think it's a super food, amirite?

Depends on why you are having the cheat meal. Are you more interested in straight up carbs or having something you've been craving. Decisions decisions. Have both!

There's nothing unhealthy about either. They can both fit in my daily calories.

I love pancakes but then I'm hungry within an hour or two because they're pure simple carbs. Pizza stays with you better. Plus, you can add some protein and/or veggies and get a bit of extra nutrition.

But they're both delicious, so figure out which you're craving more and make it happen.

    ...both? Neither is better, rather.

I love having protein pancakes when I finish lifting and pizza is good all the time, any time.

Pancakes in the morning, then pizza, then more pizza, then IHOP late late at night for more pancakes.

Pancakes don't have to be a cheat meal, you can make pancakes with chia seeds or flax in them, and use fancy blueberry syrup or make a delicious compote. Adding lots of cinnamon, cardamom or nutmeg also helps make things more interesting. I do this with vanilla spice french toast, because I can live without pancakes but my heart would shrivel up and desiccate without the occasional Sunday french toast brunch. Instead of syrup I use low fat Cool Whip...it's kind of the lesser of some evils.

Pizza is legit a cheat meal if you're ordering in. Of course you can make your own healthy one, but go big or go home if you're looking for a legit treat.

There's nothing unhealthy about either of those. I just ate an entire pizza and it fit my calorie goal perfectly. I have protein pancakes at least once a week too. Usually covered in butter and syrup, and it still fits!

Neither is evil and they're both healthy.

Eat the one you enjoy more.

Thanks everyone! I meant in terms of when I'm eating out at a restaurant. I guess I'll decide when I wake up that day! Lol

    cheat meal therefore eat both.

Alternatively, just fit it into your day and don't have to cheat.

  • It depends, thin crust has a considerable amount less calories than pan or deep dish.

If pan cakes don't have loads of butter, they don't have to be that bad.

If it's a cheat meal eat what you like. It probably wouldn't make a difference if you ate both if you eat. If you eat 1,200 or so all other days of the week.

Which toppings are the best protein-packed with veggie combos to order on a pizza, for a meal?

Which ever you like...both have benefits.

    Not healthy?? Why??

Pancakes and syrup.....that is an awesome carb refeed.....very little fat.

I ate a stack of 'em the night before my competitions.

And then ate an entire Large pizza from Little Caesars after the show (2600 cals)

It depends on the type of toppings for me. If I really had to choose, I'd go with pizza.
