What's in your gym bag?

Just getting ready to hit the gym and I thought holy crap do I have enough stuff?
Workout book
Gloves
Headphones
HRM Strap
Shampoo and body wash
Small and large towel
Gym shoes
Strength Training (to read between lifting and cardio)
Extra pair workout pants & socks
Sports bottle with Gatorade and BCAA's
Shaker with milk and chocolate syrup
Small container with whey and creatine

Much of that would go down if I didn't shower at the gym.

    LOL! That's a TON!

All I take with me is my ID card (it's our college's gym) and headphones... and then like my cellphone and car keys duh, but that's it. I watch TV on the screens while I do cardio, and they have music playing over the speakers for when I do strength training. So it's all good :)

That is my murse thank you very much. Since I don't want to bring a separate beauty bag, body wash and shampoo is all I need. The rest stays at home. moon.gif

    Weight lifting gloves
clip on bike shoes for spinning
    gel seat for spinning
    water bottle
    towel
    lock
    iPod and headphones
    headbands

HRM goes on when I get dressed otherwise I forget it-I have to rinse it off when I take it off after working out. If I have to run errands afterwards, I'll throw in a clean shirt and bra, a hat and some powder.

Skip the book (you'll work out harder), and do you really need the extra workout clothes? You're worse than a girl!! lol I go straight home 9/10 times so I only need the necessities.

    To gym I bring:
    ipod and headphones
    Gym ID/student card
    water bottle
    HRM watch
(Protein & carbs, & shower/changing stuff for after if I'm not going straight home)

If I'm going for a swim:
    suit
    large towel
    goggles
    cap & back up cap
    water bottle
    kick board
(protein & carbs, & shower/changing stuff for after if I'm not going straight home)

Presuming I'm not already wearing gym clothes when I go (in which case, I have changes of the civilian versions in my bag)...

    gym shoes
    gym pants
    gym socks
workout vest (undershirt) & overshirt (usually a t-shirt)
    change of underwear
change of bra (I usually wear sports bras all the time)
little elastic band for the back fo my glasses (otherwise they slide off)
    lock for locker
    wrist holder for iPhone/iPod/mp3 player/ID
    [maybe] headband
[maybe] extra-special bang-about pair of glasses
    [maybe] plastic slippers for shower
[maybe, should be always] water bottle
plus of course the usual stuff - wallet, keys, bike keys and/or transport card, book to read on the bus, microfiber cloth, pen & paper etc.

I currently go to a posh gym, so towels are provided and there are dispensers for shampoo/body lotion which I use. Full change of underwear is absolutely necessary. Waterproof bags to transport home the soaked worn ones would be good.

Lots of what is listed above in addition to:

    1 can of Red Bull
    Cliff Builder Protein Bar
Body Bugg (found this to be much more accurate than any HRM)
VersaGripps (the only lifting straps to last me more than a year)
Lifting Belt (only for Leg days)
Silver neck chain for my rings (so I don't lose them)
IPod Touch with iFitness for trying out some new types of exercises
and Business Cards... for the number of people who ask what the heck I do for a living when they see my jacket with our corporate logo.

    Home gym FTW!

I walk from kitchen with bottle of water, my iphone for music and a piece of paper to write my sets/reps on.

Finish and walk back to kitchen to drink PWO shake. No bag required :P

I guess it's to each their own right? I even find the TVs distracting! Maybe once a year I'll plug my headphones into the TVs on the cardio machines, otherwise it's just me & 1 earbud in my ear (I like to hear my breathing and the ppl around me, I'm odd that way).
  • Small and large towel
    Body wash
    Water bottle
    Gym shoes
    gym card
    Asthma pump
    Gym clothes

    not too much.
  • You have lots more than me! But I don't shower there. Depends on the day, but lately it is only:

    2 racquetball racquets
2 cases of 3 balls each (i have no idea why I need so many)
    1 gym membership card

Sometimes it is (for swim days):

    Dry change of clothes
    Goggles
    Hair bands
    Beach towel
    Nose clip
    Gym card
