My first job was at Chuck E Cheese and we would have to hide the balloons at least once a month due to latex allergies

A little, but not enough for it to matter when it matters.

I am, Danni. But only contact latex, not airborne. Thank baby Jesus.

ETA: wearing undergarments is painful... just so ya know.

"The current statistics for people sensitized to natural rubber latex are broken down by risk groups and are as follows:

    8-17% of health care workers
Up to 68% of children with spina bifida (related to frequent surgeries - anyone who has multiple surgeries is at risk)
Less than 1% of the general population in the U.S. (about 3 million people)

My wife is. We discovered it before we got married. They have polyurethane condoms for such cases. Not the fun ones, though.

She was also an EMT so she had to get special gloves.

I am. I have far more problems with liquid and powder (like the inside of balloons and gloves) than I do with the solid part. You can touch me wearing latex gloves and I'd be okay. But the powder residue on my hands if I wore them would cause problems.

I used to wear latex gloves at work and developed a bad alergy after 5 years or so, we buy Nitrile ones now.

I must be allergic to the thought of it. Every time I think of a curvacsous gal dressed in latex I get all swole up and light headed.
