Satin Green Shutters by Chris de Burgh this verse brings a lump to my throat every time I hear it...

When you're sad and feeling low, you're on your own with nowhere to go,
Make believe that she is gone, play your guitar and write a song for her,
Write down the words about how you cried when you woke up weeping,
'Cos you thought that she had died, and you heard her breathing,
Through your pain and you held her close and cried all over again

A little off topic, but watch The Romance. It's a korean movie. All of the music in that movie is so sad. Yes, it's korean but my friend turned the subtitles on me after she had ro explain what they were saying

Whiskey Lullaby... a little cheesy but strikes a personal note with me.

My first thought as well. But I think a lot of that is just how well done the video was. I have to go one of those from that weird period in the early 70s where they married upbeat melodies with truly depressing lyrics. Seasons in the Sun and Blind Man in the Bleachers are close, but this... Jesus...
