20 somethings wanting to lose 5-15 lbs by Valentine's Day!

Hello!

My name is Nicole and I have been looking to find a challenge to join but they all seem to have a million members and have already started SOOO I decided to start my own! I am 22 years old and about 160 lbs. I am trying to lose a pound to 2 pounds a week and my end goal is to be under 140. I figured that Valentines Day is a solid ending point, 8 weeks away, not too far to get discouraged but far enough to see some good numbers! And I need a little extra motivation the next two weeks due to Christmas/New Years!

So here is what I was thinking, reply to this with your name, age, how many pounds you are looking to lose per week and your end goal (and obviously anything else you feel inclined to share!) You can weigh in any day of the week (I am going to use Monday since February 14th is a Monday). Just copy and paste the list below each week when you weigh in.

    oohhh me! I want to join!

    I am 27 and I also have about 20 pounds to lose (maybe more - but that is my first goal). I am going to aim for almost my goal by Valentines day - 70 kilos (I weigh 78 right now). That would be AMAZING.

    Hey Nicole, I would love to join this challenge. I am in a December challenge but I am already thinking what I am going to do to keep me motivated beyond this.
    I want to lose 2 lbs per week but realistically I am not expecting to lose over Christmas and New Year. I would be quite happy to stay the same at this time.
    My name is Beth and I am 28 and 5'2". I weigh 159.5 ish now and I hope to get to 144 by Valentines Day. My ultimate goal is 120.

    I've never done a challenge before but I'm interested in trying it! I'm 25 and weigh 145.5 pounds. My goal is 130 by the time my husband gets home from deployment (roughly May) but earlier is better. I started at 161.5.

    I too love the mini goal reward idea so I decided to do a few for myself:
    1. Under 140 = Manicure...haven't had one in over a year!
    2. Under 135 = Massage? Facial? Something pampery that I wouldn't normally treat myself to.
    3. Under 130 = Finish current tattoo-in-progress. YES!!!!!

    I'm Nicole. 27yrs old. I started my weight loss at 193. Since joining MFP at 183 I've lost 20lbs and just gained 5 back. I use Chalean Extreme and am waiting for Turbo Fire to come in the mail next week :drinker:

    Awesome challenge Nicole and I'm definitely interested in joining this to keep me motivated.

    Well I'm Maidei, I'm 21yrs old and by the 14th of February I would hope to weight anything lower than 140lbs by losing between .5-1.5lbs a week.

    I'm in! I would like to weigh in on Wednesdays. I have about 10 pounds left to lose and it's a real struggle for me at this point. My goal is to lose about 0.5-1 pound a week, so in the neighborhood of 6 pounds overall.

    Hi, Im a 24 year old mommy to one. Right now I weigh 161 and I would love to be 140 by Valentines day.
    It'll take a lot of determination and exercise but I will try!!!!

    Hi everyone!! My name is Gaby. I've lost 30 lbs so far, but I'm having some challenges with the last leg of the race. I'm also part of another v-day challenge, but I figure the more the merrier to make sure I stay accountable and reach my goal. Plus, I hope I can bring encouragement to others as well.

I'll also be trying to go to bikram yoga once or twice a week and throw in some Brazil Butt Lift. Well pretty much I just want to stay active b/c I have all these great resources at my fingertips and want to make sure to take advantage of them.

    I've never done a challenge before either! I've been afraid to set weight goals because, like most people, I've failed at loosing weight a lot over the course of my life! But, with the help of MFP and doing zumba I'm down 13lbs! So, I think its safe to say it is for real this time :) I have a lot more weight to loose but I'm going to try to be realistic and shoot for 10lbs by V-day. I hope this post stays alive! I'd love to chat with people on a day to day basis and encourage eachother throughout the week.
    I live on the east coast and work 3rd shift - so my posts will be late unless you live on the west coast :)

    Well, I'm going to weigh in tomorrow and get my starting weight for this challenge. I'm excited to have something to give me an extra push :)

    I've had a lot of trouble working out for the last two weeks. I've been working a lot of overtime and we've had a lot of visitors in our home for the holidays. So my mini goal for this week is to do zumba twice and the gym at least once. For a while there I was working out 5-6 times a week! I need to get back to that!

    I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to AFTER the holidays so I can get back into my routine! :)

    Hey i'm in, i'm also in the other V-day group, but no harm in joining this one too!

    I'm 27, when I joined MFP at the end of November, I weighed about 167. Currently I weigh 160, but i've had a rough weekend full of birthdays and holiday gatherings and gluttony, so we'll see how the weigh-in goes tomorrow. I'm hoping to lose 15lbs by Valentine's day, taking me down to 145, but i'd be happy at 150. I'm doing Insanity for my workouts, tomorrow I start week 4, and i'll be done altogether by the beginning of February and looking to start something new, so i'm hoping for some sweet results by Valentine's day.

  • Im 26 and I have struggled with my weight my entire life. My highest weight was 5 years ago in college at 178 pounds! Ive been on again off again dieting with little success for years. Im so impressed with this website and the tools and support I know I will succeed.
