How often does everyone weigh in? Daily? Weekly? Every few days?

weekly. But the scale isnt always the best indication of fat loss. Ive been the same weight for like 3 weeks now but can tell that my stomach, arms, and legs are firmer. Im going to start just doing body measurements0

I can get scale obsessed, I started out only wanting to weigh once a month, but that seemed to be too long, so now I'm weighing every two weeks, we'll see what happens next.0

X2 on the measurements...
If you are working out (cardio and strength training), your weight is going to fluctuate... Your body measurements are a tell all...0 -
Weigh and log daily.0

Daily because I'm trying to also track my water retention in association with what I eat. I hope to take my measurements twice a month.0

I record my weight on MFP on Mondays only. I take my waist, bust, and hip measurements once every 6 weeks or so.
However, I have a phone app that I use to record and track my weight daily. This is my indicator to make adjustments if I am trending upwards before my next MFP recording day.0 -
I weigh myself daily. I know that there are a lot of people on mfp who frown upon daily weighing, since your weight fluctuates day to day based on things like how much liquid you consumed. At the end of the day though, the more data you have, the more accurately you know the trend - meaning if you track your weight on a daily basis you'll see the fluctuations as fluctuations and have a better idea of where you're actually going. However, many people take it really hard when they see a bigger number, and therefore prefer to weight themselves only as often as they know they will see a change (ie. weekly or monthly). Basically, do what works best for you, and most importantly, what won't drive you insane.0

I weigh myself daily in the morning with no clothes.
I have lost over 74 pounds so this has worked for me.
I take my measurements weekly0 -
Weekly, bi-weekly, random intervals.. I'm not really that concerned with weighing myself to be honest.0

For years I've weighed myself daily; however, I get way too obsessed with the number and would think about it throughout the day. So just last week I decided to start weighing myself weekly and I'm already feeling a lot more relaxed. I can see the benefits of daily or weekly, but I think it depends on the person.0

^ this pretty much. Sometimes it's daily, sometimes it's a few times a week.. sometimes I won't weigh for weeks.. the logging is telling the story and I pretty much know where it's going..0 -
Decided to go with monthly this time around. I much prefer not to get discouraged by "bad" numbers on a weekly basis. Monthly and I'm sure I'll have a loss. People who weigh daily are nuts and/or have a seriously strong head. I would get so discouraged if I weighed daily.0

I weigh daily as this is what has been working for me also. I do not get bummed when there is a slight gain and it keeps me accountable. My loss has been since April 7, 2014 and along with eating healthy, within my range and exercise I am feeling FINE !!0

Weekly, usually on Sunday morning. I'm also going to measure monthly... maybe bi-weekly at first so I can get a more accurate representation of fat loss and muscle gain (especially if the scale isn't budging too much, just to confirm that I am in fact doing just fine).0

i started on the program recently, i check twice a week. each time i weigh myself, if i see a decrease, it motivates me to push harder.0
-
For the longest time I weighed myself daily but came to the realization that I was getting scaled obsessed. Recently I have been trying to check just once a week which I found to be better for me.0

I officially weigh in on Tuesdays. We measure every other week and pictures once a month. However, I weigh myself daily, even a few times a day. The day to day fluctuation doesn't bother me, just a check. I've seen people on here who have put their scales away for a month. I'm not sure I can do that!0

Friday morning.0

I weigh mostly daily but that's more for my own amusement than anything else for some reason I find that number jumping around hilarious this being said I log once a week or so when I remember to take the phone in the bathroom and not leave it on the counter next to the fridge.0

I typically weigh daily -- but I can do so because I understand and am comfortable with the changes in numbers, and know that often when I get a new lowest weight, it'll be followed by 2-3 days of slightly higher. I like it as an indication of how much water I'm retaining from specific foods, sodium, or from a specific workout.
Right now, I'm away for work and haven't weighed myself in 8 days, and it hasn't actually bugged me that much that I can't. I'm tracking my eating, I'm more active than usual since I don't have my car, and I know that I've been really happy with what I've been doing. I've been hitting my macros better than at home actually since I'm only cooking for me, and not my SO too.
So hopefully, at the end of my three weeks, I'll see the 3-4lb loss I'm hoping to -- my goal right now is to lose 1.2lbs a week, but weight loss isn't totally linear.0 -
Right now I way in daily and sometimes at different times of the day, I have never owned a scale and got one about a month ago, ever since I am obsessed with weighing myself. I need to start doing it just weekly. I only record my weight weekly on MFP, I need to start weighing myself only on that same day to record it on MFP.0

Unfortunately daily....but it just leads to me being annoyed. I dont recommend it!0

fortunately i don't own a scale, or i would probably be weighing myself daily. as is, i just weigh myself whenever i happen to bike past the one farmacy in town with a scale if they're open (ends up being once every couple weeks)......
it's taking my weight at varying times of the day and sporadically, which helps me. that way i don't take the numbers too seriously. i'm just hoping for downward trends here..
i've been taking my measurements once a week or so. usually the measurements are just a half inch lost here and a quarter inch there, but a downward trend in measurements is way more satisfying/important to me than the number on the scale...0 -
I log daily, but only weigh once per week on Saturday morning. Weekends are my downfall (will power is at its weakest) so I have found that if I weigh on Saturday and have good results, it keeps me strong through the weekend!:happy:0

I used to weight daily and now it's every week or so.0

I weigh daily but only log when a pound is lost. I have noticed that in between those recording times, my weight tends to go up 2 to 3 pounds until the next time it is a pound less. So there is a daily fluctuation that I come to expect. If I go several days fluttering around the same numbers and not having lost weight, I know I need to figure out what is wrong. Has worked for me so far.
Time of day is important too. I measure first thing in the morning every day. If I weight myself again before bed, I am usually several pounds heavier on that same day!0 -
Every Monday morning before breakfast. I feel like it keeps me more accountable on the weekends if I think, "you have a weigh-in in 1 or 2 days, maybe (x) isn't the best thing to be eating!"0
-
I weigh daily and track my exponentially smoothed moving average. John Walker explains how and why to do this in the chapter on "Signal and Noise" in his free ebook "The Hacker's Diet" (http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/e4/).
I find that it inures me to the inevitable daily fluctuations, while giving me useful information on the progress that I'm making.
However, if seeing a bigger number one day than the previous day will make you freak out, you shouldn't do it. The caveat, though, is that even if you weigh only once a week, you might see a bigger number one day simply because you ate a lot of salty food the previous day, or even the day before. I'd rather see daily fluctuations for what they are than be freaked out by a weekly fluctuation.0 -
I used to weigh myself daily because it helped me fine tune my weight loss strategy. Now that I know exactly what works for me, I do it every 7-10 days.0
