Question on easing back into workouts (hamstring)

I have had chronic hamstring strains for the better part of two years. I was able to pinpoint the issue to more of a high hamstring area, near the glutes and part of the strain into the groin area as well.

Took a few weeks off so I do not feel any pain or strain at any point now. My plan is to slowly ease back into EVERYTHING relating to the hamstring.

I believe some reasons I was constantly getting a sore hamstring was from incline walking (around 40 mins/day at 4+ incline), daily body squats, some of which I would go past the 90 degree angle and I think this had something to do with the glute/groin strains.

I have been spending 20 minutes before any type of workout (cardio/weights/spinning) which goes first a 10 minute walk on the treadmill followed by a 10 minute stretch focused primarily on my lower body.

I like incline walking a lot to burn body fat and am able to do most cardio work through intervals mostly. Just wanted to see if anyone experienced a similar situation and if you have any thoughts/comments/suggestions on restarting my exercising.

thanks
