I report them as fast as I find them. Maybe we need one of those alpha numeric spam blocking boxes before you can get an account here. That might stop some of it.

well considering it is 6:30 AM AST I suspect the mods are not up and since MFP is on the west coast they are still asleep too...

you only see these in the early morning hours for North America...they get taken care of soon enough...

I've been trying to cast a spell on them to stop them. It's just not working though maybe I should ring one of the numbers for advice

Yeah well I'm in Europe and some days you go onto the forums and there's nothing but spam as far as the eye can see.

Surely there must be some way of filtering out the spam posts automatically?

I agree, those are very annoying! Some days I sit here at 3 in the morning(no joke), and see a bunch of these black magic things appearing all over the forum. It really gets irritating. If I were an Anime character, I would definitely be sweatdropping for sure.

I think mods do a pretty good job and they do remove spam as fast as they can.

Probably fun posts ( meaning real threads which got out of hand) get closed quicker because the'offences' are being committed while mods are awake and on the forums - spam happens during the (American) night when they are asleep.
