Just curious... why does mayo get such hate on the internet while PB gets all the love? I mean mayo has low sat fats/100g comapared to PB and it has high PUFAs.

It's probably the dreaded *gasp* processed mayo vs. natural peanut butter.0

Neither one is good for you, but giving up mayo is pretty easy.
Peanut butter, on the other hand, is so very, very yummy!!0 -
I hate the taste of mayo on a jelly sammich. Love peanut butter. Either is fine. Iifym! And things.0

False. Peanut butter soothes the soul.0 -
Peanut butter is delicious by the spoonful....the thought of eating mayo by the spoonful kinda makes me gag0
-
Neither one is good for you,
What do you mean? Why isn't either one good for me?0 -
80% of death is caused by dying 125% of the time.0

Did you know living leads to dying?
It's true.
100% of the time.

Mayo is disgusting... that's why0

Well PB has good fats. Mayo, not so much, unless it's made with olive oil I guess.0

What makes the fat in mayo bad?0 -
I love mayo and pb. Just not together.
Actually, scratch that. I ordered a burger recently topped with peanut butter, mayo, pepper jack cheese, bacon, and pickles. It was everything.0 -
I think both are fine. IIFYM.
I don't really care for mayo and rather save the calories for something else. I love peanut butter and find ways to incorporate it into my day multiple times a week.0 -
Eh, neither food is that special to me. I don't really eat PB that often, and don't truly understand the obsession that some people have with it. And the calorie to protein ratio isn't blow your socks off impressive, like some people seem to think it is. Same with mayo. It's pretty tasty in potato salad or a sandwich, but it's not a food I crave.0

Eat mayo if you like; I'll skip it and add another spoonful of peanut butter to my day.0 -
Well, just talking about taste here...mayo is great for salads, wraps, sandwiches, but I've never had the urge to eat it by the spoonful straight out of the jar. Peanut butter on the other hand...0

Peanut butter has more redeeming values as it has lean protein, some vitamins, in addition to healthy fat. But whatever, if you want to spread some mayo on your sandwich, go for it. Just budget in your cals. I personally am not a huge fan of mayo. I wont tell you what white, mushy/creamy reminds me of. Eww.0
-
Why? Because the internet is full of pseudoscience.
Neither are good or bad for you. Eat them up if you like them.0 -

Giving up mayo (or restricting it) was hard-ish for me. Easier to restrict PB. I used to eat mayo sandwiches on white bread! Calorie bomb right there, lol
ETA: I also used to eat butter and peanut butter sandwiches on white bread, lol.0 -

I am, of course, speaking for me there. I know some people don't even like PB. Wish I were one of them! But if I never had any mayo again, I'd be fine with that.
Different strokes!
My mother - who fed us just about the most unhealthy diet possible, lol - used to make us butter and PB on white bread. It's not bad tasting!0 -

I can live without mayo mostly, the only thing I really use it for now is tuna fish and club sandwiches and for the clubs, I mix it half and half with dijon mustard, yum!0 -
Neither are bad for you however it's true that Peanut butter will give you more benefits/cals VS the mayo.
Peanut butter as protein and healthy fat were mayo is close to empty calories, most of the time.
It's really up to you. I will never give up my PB and banana toast in the morning or banana bread/muffin covered in PB. On the other end I always liked Nutella but I kind of gave up on it. I didn't like it enough for the caloric intake it represented versus the protein I need in the morning. I never cared much for mayo. I always preferred mustard or other dipping sauce (like hummus or tzatziki in sandwich).0 -
Why would you even compare PB to Mayo??? they are not used the same way. This post is wrong in so many ways.0

Favorite sammies as a kid:
Tuna salad (tuna mixed with mayo, chopped onion and celery)
Egg salad (with mayo)
Baloney with mayo
Peanut butter and grape jelly
Peanut butter and honey and banana
All of the above on wonderbread!0 -
I can live without mayo, but I do eat it (the kind with olive oil). Now PB? I think I know what my snack is going to be!0

What do you mean? She wasn't asking about how they are used, she was asking why so many internet sites say one is bad and the other is not.0
