Can men and women maintain a platonic relationship?
Replies

No. I don't think so. One of the two is attracted to the other.0
-
Really Breeze lol most my friends growing up were guys0
-
That's never worked out well for me,most men don't like hearing I only like you as a friend when they are attracted to you and it ruins everything. I'm sure no one likes hearing that. I think it's hard if the attraction is one sided or if it's mutual unless they don't like each other's personalities enough to make it a physical thing.0

Not from my experience. Once that 'maybe' thought turns into a 'never', the one who is attracted to the other disappears1

Exactly my experience and it sucks or they hang around awhile and make you feel guilty for not reciprocating and heaven forbid you start dating someone.

I've had a couple of those but also some good experiences. Who know? Lol0
-
Of course!
Plenty of my friends are guys. In fact, outside of my two female best friends, I spend most of my time with guys.2 -
^this is because guys are awesome

See told you Breeze so possible!!!0

Um, no?
It's pretty much common knowledge that of two people of different genders try to be friends, their genitals will go nuclear from all the sexual tension?? And the only way to diffuse the possible worldwide destruction from nether region- Nagasaki situation is for the offending "friends" to fight to the death in a televised arena death match. The heck where you doing in school dude? Clearly not paying attention.1 -

All I know is I've had many guy friends and yes a few liked me at one time but that all worked out. So I do believe friendship is possible.0
-
Yeah it's possible, but where's the fun in that?0
-
Lol well a few of those friendships did make good relationships too lol0
-
Sure. Just keep your private parts, apart. Simples.0
-
Why can't they be?0
-
Just curious here.
If you want to and you think about it and fantasize about it et etc - is that still platonic?0 -
I think it's natural to wonder about it, in general. If the curiousity passes pretty quickly, I don't see how it impacts a platonic relationship. My two pennies.0
-
But if platonic means non sexual and you've imagined it, surely that's already introduced a sexual element to the relationship.
Even if not physically.1 -
Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I've imagined a lot worse things than what someone might be like in bed etc Doesn't mean I'd actually entertain acting on it. I think one's actions determine what a relationship becomes.

I think we all have. It just depends on your definition of platonic then really doesn't it?0 -
