The below data : read your labels, Fruit Loops vs Raisin Brand is an eye opener. Yes many will have a fit over this, but it is just to show comparisons of these two cereals. It doesn't mean you should buy Fruit Loops over Rasin Brand....
1 cup Kellogs Raisin Bran
Calories: 190
Calories from fat: 15
Sugars: 19 grams
Sodium: 350 mg
Fiber: 7g
1 cup Kellogs Froot Loops
Calories: 110
Calories from fat: 10
Sugars: 12 grams
Sodium: 135 mg
Fiber: >1g
Nutrition percentages of vitamins are almost identical. Raisin Bran has more fiber than Froot Loops, but other than that Froot Loops appears healthier and has much less sugar.

Are you certain? Because I almost think the serving size for Fruit Loops is less than a full cup...
ETA - yep, I checked. Hmm.0 -
Raisins have tons of sugar. Yep. And?0
-
I wouldn't have guessed that?0
-
What are either one made out of?
How healthy something is for you has nothing to do with the amount of carbs, protein, fat, fiber, sugar, etc. in it.0 -
I am not a fan of Fruit Loops myself, but I do love Raisin Brand. Just thought it was interesting as Fruit Loops brings tons of sugar to mind and it does not have that much. It appears when all those brightly colored boxes of cereal with their cartoon characters on the shelf at the store seem to me , to say-" Hurry hurry, get your sugar coated cereals", lol.0

Froot Loops > Raisin Bran0

I'm a huge lover of fruit loops but we have cut out artificial dyes in my household so no matter the sugar content, Raisin Bran wins every time.0

Any specific reason you're leaving out the Protein and basic vitamins?
Also as kshadows mentioned Fruit Loops serving size is NOT 1 cup, it's: 3/4 cup.
I'm all for reading labels and eating the "less healthy" choice if that's what you're craving and it fits into your own personal dietary guidelines, however I do NOT stand for misleading information skewed to fit your own personal agenda.

Now you know why I don't buy either any more (well, I never ate Froot Loops anyway but used to love Raisin Bran) now my go to breakfast food is oatmeal, you can dress it up any way you want with berries or fruit, use honey or maple syrup if you want a little more sweetness, a dash of cinnamon etc etc etc
The combinations are almost limitless and, this appeals to my inner cheapskate, it's cheap - much cheaper than any boxed sugar coated cardboard.0 -
One serving of Raisin Bran: 59g. One serving of Froot Loops: 29g.
Read your labels indeed...0 -
I just eat chocolate cheerios and give a middle finger to the man..0

My preferred Raisin Brand is Sun-Maid, but only because she's so cute.0

Both are 1 cup. Fantastic argument for food scale v. measuring cups. Going by weight rather than volume means: Raisin bran is 34% sugar. Froot Loops are 40% sugar.0 -
Froot Loops > Raisin Bran
^^Truth X2. But I'm boring, pass the box of Cheerios, please0 -

I like your reckless disregard for authority :drinker: :laugh:0 -
I try to follow the 10/10 rule, a good choice for me is a food that has less than 10g of fat and less than 10g of sugar per serving. If it has more than that I tend to not buy it. Next I look at the saturated Fat, if it has more than
3g of saturated fat I also don't buy it. This simple rule helps me weed out bad choices quickly at the store.0 -
...so for me, both of these cereals are not good choices.0
-
I don't like cold cereal at all, so am not personally invested in this, but if you correct to have similar grams (raisin bran packs tighter, I imagine, so there's more in a cup), the numbers look different. I'll pick 50 grams of each.
50 grams of Froot Loops:
190 calories
2 grams of fat
2 grams of protein
5 grams of fiber
17 grams of sugar
50 grams of Raisin Bran:
161 calories
1 gram of fat
4 grams of protein
7 grams of fiber
16 grams of sugar
(I'd expect raisins themselves to contribute both a good amount of fiber and sugar.)0 -

Also fruit, I guess. 19 grams in one medium apple. I had 15 grams this morning in my cherries. Also 3 grams of sat fat in my eggs.0 -
For those debating the serving size of Froot loops, it looks like depending on where you live the box will either say 1 cup or 3/4 cup. Now while there might be a discrepancy over the cup measurement, the grams from what I see is about the same at 29 or 30 regardless of whether the box says 1 cup or 3/4 cup. ***This is just from looking at google images***
Op: A better comparison would be comparing the same amount of grams. The Raisin bran has a bigger serving size from what I see on google. About 55 g from what I see. So really your comparing 29/30 g of one cereal to 55 g of another. Not really a fair comparison.0 -

I don't like either of these cereals, but based on the labels, I'd take the Raisin Brand. IMO, more fiber and more protein = more good.0 -
granola is healthy right? quick, minions get me a label to compare.0
-
I'm curious as to why you would eat either of those two. bleck.0
-
OP why didnt you compare like with like and in a full way with all he details i.e 100g with 100g? the way you have represented it is misleading and unhelpful to put it mildly.0

I've never liked raisen bran honestly- it gets to soggy- I like well soaked grape nuts. LOL- but I don't eat cereal at this point so eh.... I tend to skip all cereals.0 -

I don't eat cereal because I don't like it, but grape nuts is the master of all cereals.0 -
Is it freshly harvested froot?0
-
I'm sitting eating sugar-frosted flakes, from a box with a polar bear on it. No regrets.0
