I'm in again! With the weather getting cooler and the outdoor bicycling season winding down, I plan to incorporate more walking in to my routine, so, hopefully, my step count will work its way back up again.
  • Sounds motivating, count me in!

 The poodles and I have already added over 2700 steps to the pedometer this morning and we're headed out for another walk soon.

:drinker: :flowerforyou: my goal for October is to exceed 18,000 steps each day.

Just wondering, if i were to walk 10000 steps on a treadmill, how long will it take me? please don't laugh

Well, it depends on your stride length. Mine is 24 inches. So for me 10,000 steps is almost 4 miles. 5280 feet is one mile.
So, on average 10,000 steps in 5 miles for most people. For me, I have a very short stride so it is less.
  • I'm in. I'm also doing the running challenge, but my "rest" days seem to be getting a lot of rest in them. :)

I would guess about 1 hour and 15 minutes, which sounds like a long time. Walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes or 45 minutes per day will certainly increase your step count and would add to what you do all day long.

Yay for motivation. I want to beat my average for September so October's average will be (I hope) 18,000 or more. Needless to say, I'm in.

Each mile is about 2000 steps. Do a 15 minute mile so that would be 1 hour and 15 minutes. Pretty do able. I ran 2 miles today at lunch and because my stride is longer didn't show as many steps. But that is the basics..
