  • Do not eat anything new or exotic the night before or morning of your race. Good luck! You will kill it!

If you have a cramping issue, get plenty of potassium into your system a week in advance of the race. For example, if you normally have veggies at night, switch to spinach or broccoli (or something else high in potassium) and eat double (on the potassium loaded veggies not calories) that for the week leading up to your race. Bananas the morning of the race are not sufficient potassium to prevent you from cramping if you're deficient that day.

If you don't have issues cramping up, then you don't need to do this, but it will be a good excuse to get your spinach in anyway!
  • Give it your all and have fun, don't start out too fast, drink plenty of water before and after, and make sure you use the restroom! There's nothing like feeling you have to use the restroom when you race or workout.
