Loretta_Jo, is sounds like the only thing you have left for exercise right now is really careful slow mega-gentle, did I say slow, pool work.
You must be losing something with all the typin' you do on here. And smiling' and encouraging. That's got to count for something. :flowerforyou:

    Loretta_Jo,

Would you say in hind-sight that some or many of your health problems could have been caused by excess weight on your frame? I was just wondering, because I reached 207 a couple years back and things just started hurting and I had trouble swallowing, digesting, walking, going up steps, everything was tough or painful. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had continued down my path of weight gain. I gained it very slowly, since I had been active for most of the time.

I CANNOT BELIEVE how much better I feel now (at 175 today). I hope it just gets better.

Thanks for all the posts, I really enjoy hearing peoples' stories. Keep doing those chair exercises.

Sorry about the NASCAR stuff (pictures) but the season is almost done -and I'm wishing my boy Jeff good karma. Ms. JOTW is wanting Jeff's team-mate to win. Toil & trouble.

Sorry I didn’t answer this sooner. I have been out of town all day….I had a doctors appointment this morning with a doctor 2 ½ hours from here. I have got different 8 doctors that I have to see on a regular biases…..5 of which are in other cities. Only one of those doctors is my general practitioner. All the others are specialists for my different health issues. And yes it gets expensive along with the meds I have to take every day of this world.

    To answer you question…
Yes the excess weight I was carrying around exasperated my health issues most definitely.
I also had sleep apnea and high blood pressure. I had to be on a C-Pap machine every night while I slept. I lost the weight and I no longer have sleep apnea and the C-Pap machine is HISTORY! I no longer have high blood pressure either so the b/p meds are HISTORY as well. Just by losing the weight I have been able to stop several of the other medications I was on also.
Being over weight causes all kind of problems with our health and the only way to be free of those things is to lose the weight. Although unfortunately there are some things that will never go away but at least it is easier to deal with and we will and do feel better by losing the weight.
My doctor has told me that I have added a good 20 years to my life just by losing the weight. WOW 20 years more to live and be a pain to my son that much longer LOL.

Keep up the good work Cheryl and you will lose all of the weight you need and want to. You will feel every better then you do now guaranteed.

Keep on with the pictures girl I am really enjoying seeing them.

yuck  8 Drs...that is just not fun.

I hear you about the weight being a catastophic contributer to your health issues...that is where im at, and how i got here.
15 yrs ago i was diagnosed with Diabetes. It runs rampped in my family. Back then i only had to watch what i ate, i was only 180 then.
Bout 8 yrs later they put me on pills for it...i was 230 by then. Bout 5 yrs ago i hit the max for pills, and they started worrying about my b/p...260lbs. A year ago i was put in hospital and on insulin full time...i was 280, and my blood sugars have always been out of control. I am incredibly lucky not to have major complications at this point.
In Feb of this year, i switched drs again, in hopes of finally getting my b/s (how appropriate:tongue: ) under control. This one finally did it. But suddenly i was growing again. Turns out that the years of high b/s was hiding a tyroid problem...i ballooned to 348...the Dr's scale only goes to 350. I cried. I was taking an obscene amount of insulin, b/p pills, a fluid pill for the swelling. Tylenol like crazy for the aches and pains. I couldn't even get out of my own way most days. I was depressed as h e double hockey sticks, and couldn't do my job very well.
That was 3 1/2 weeks ago now. I am down about 5 lbs, and i notice a huge difference. Not so much from the little bit of weight that i have lost, but from the better choices im making to loose that weight. Without all the junk in my system, i have energy. I take a really fabulouse multi-vitamin, Ginseng, and eat a lot healthier foods. I get out of the house and walk. I go to curves and feel like a new woman when i leave. There is a spring in my step now. Although i am only just beginning to get healty..i feel healthy.
My b/s are at so much better numbers that i am almost off one of the insulins already...i was taking two kinds. That is amazing, and i know it will only get better. I don't swell up near as much, just becqause i am exercising now. My circulation is much better, i don't hurt near as much. I can"t believe the rewards i am experiencing this quickly.
LOL i just looked up and realized that i started this thread 3 nights ago, with a very different frame of mind. See what i mean...i know i am doing a great job, but i also know that this site has been an incredible tool for me. The support i have received in such a small time has helped me sooooo much...i can only hope that i help others as well.
So yah...Cheryl, Lorretta...thank you for being inspirations...im on my way!!!!

    PS...please forgive the spelling, lol
