Oooh noooo last week!!! I am currently the same as last week so am not going to weigh in this week until Friday. Need to get those last 2lbs off and then I have hit my target. Oh the pressure!!!!!
I like the idea of mini challenges! Posting on the thread more often would be a good one, as I shamefully do only post once a week to log my weight. (I also need to actually PICK a weigh in day because I keep chopping and changing and its not working for me!!) other suggestions could be adding 10 minutes to your usual workout. Or having 30 minutes a day to yourself to relax, read a book, have a bath. In the same vein as love your body I think we should be talking about our mental health too! Relax time! xx0 -
Before I do my weigh in for the week I want to say I YUCK YUCK YUCK. And I am extremely ready for the next challenge. I am very excited about the mini goals and I think they are all awesome! I can't wait to give myself a weekly challenge and I think it will help!
I am ready for DH to find a job, he is really starting to annoy me. I want to be able to walk around our house and have an opinion. I feel like I can't, because if I do it will crush what little ego he has right now and get all pissy and then I get pissy. So I have been trying to keep things that bother me to myself. ERR!! And then he stays up late because he got a lot on his mind, watches tv in the living room, falls asleep out there, and that means I can workout in the morning.....he needs to find a job...in a hurry!!
Guess what else??? It's TOM!!!
So everyone please excuse my 1 lb weight gain, next challenge will be awesome and so worth it...I think for everyone!!

Hi All,
It has been just over a year since the last time I was on MFP and part of this group but I am back and ready to try again. I was doing extremely well before and then things went to hell in a chocolate covered handbasket...lol. Anyway, I gained back everything plus another ten pounds.
I have decided to try a couple of different things this time and see if it helps. Last time I was documenting all my food and coulnting the calories, carbs, fibre etc and I lost weight quickly but I think I began obesessing too much which killed it for me. This time I am not documenting, I am just going to eat better and lose the weight slower.
As much as being there and active for my kids is part of the inspiration I need an additional goal that will be rewarding to me and is a measurable goal which is key for me. Being active for my kids and there for them is tangible to a degree but it isn't easily a measurable goal. So, my additional goal is that for every pound I lose I am putting $5 into an account and when I reach my goal weight I am going to use the money to go on an adventure trip somewhere tropical where I can go hiking, see historical landmarks, go rappelling, ziplining and lots more. I love to travel and rarely get a chance to, so this time I am going to kill two birds with one stone.
Anyway, I am glad to be back and look forward to reading your posts and catching up with you all. I will start posting my weight when the next challenge starts.

lauren....i have been in your shoes more than once i am afraid. it can be just as hard on us as them. men are the bread winners. they feel like they failed when they can't provide. to them they think other men think of them as low lifes. that's why he's cranky and doesn't sleep. it took me a long time to realize this, and a book our paster suggested. the reason men want sex so often is that is how they feel closer to their mate. as we would be happy with just the cuddling. DH totally agreed with all this. he read one on us women and he now understands how our minds work. at first he would say "close a file and work on just that" as we women have many files open in our minds. men have just one the one they are working on. i had to tell him to shut up i know how i operate. very interesting stuff.
well, need to get some stuff done around here.

Hey all!
Will weigh in tomorrow morning. My babygirl is sick today and stayed home with me. We have been snuggled up in the bed all day- her sleeping and watching movies and I have been studying!
Very excited about the new challenge, havent met my goal I know this challenge- so the next one will be better! Mini challenge idea: help encourage someone(can be a different person each day or the same) to make healthy choices/help encourage/motivate them to LOVE their body.
Congrats to all who have been losing or/and met their goals- you guys are doing great!!

Katy...sorry your little one is sick. Kadence has been sick also for the past couple days. She is all snotty and having problems breathing through her nose which is making sleep pretty much nonexistent in our house. But I'm sure she'll recover soon, and it's really the first time she's been sick this winter, so I can't complain too much. Plus, she's such a trooper that I don't have to deal with much, just trouble sleeping at night. ANYways...hope your little one recovers quick!

Yay! At least I took off that 2 pounds I gained last week! Don't know if it's possible to meet my goal - 4 lbs is too much for only one week. Especially after today! My work had a pig-out pizza party because 1/2 of our people are moving to another location starting tomorrow. And pig-out is what I did! Yuck. I did end up skipping dinner (which I know isn't good) because I filled up on pizza and soda and dessert (which I also know isn't good). I went to Strength and Resistance tonight though and I finally met the normal Tuesday teacher. She is an evil lady!!! My legs were shaking so much by the end of class I felt like I couldn't walk really fast or I would fall flat on my face. I hate her/but I really like her at the same time (now that I'm sitting at my computer and she is far, far away!) So anyway, back on track for tomorrow, pig-out day is in the past, time to move forward.
Kristin - Texas sounds so fun! We're actually taking Drew on his first vacation this year as well! We plan (as long as hubby can get off work) to go to Virginia to visit a friend of my from HS. She mentioned last time she was home, around the holidays, that her hubby would be deployed (Navy) from January until June and no one would be around to celebrate her 30th birthday. So I told her we would! :happy: She is also very excited to have something to look forward to because it gets very lonely with no hubby, and with 3 little girls to take care of. We plan to go mid-April for a week. I'm very excited, but also apprehensive because that will be a lot of driving for an 18mo old.
So anyway. Hope everyone is doing well! Tomorrow the week is half-over already. Woot woot! :glasses:0 -
I running around this country like nobody's business. I'm only home for 7 more hours til I hit the airport again but I'll weigh in in the morning! when I snuck on the scale I liked what I saw and that was after a DAY'S worth of travel from CALI to east coast!
Gotta keep it short until things settle down. Give me til Friday. Hope I don't miss too much!
oh ETA in case some of you ladies are n't my MFP friend. I got off the airplane at 5 pm and by ~6pm I was in the gym doing SALSA! I am trying to stay dedicated to the cause because I have to be up and ready for aiport at 4 pm. So... I used some precious relaxing time to workout. And I had FUNNNNN!

Well, I met my goal after going up and down.
My goal for today? Not to overeat while being snowed in with three children and baking going on. No exercise for me So I made a big pot of hot cinnamon tea and plan on sipping that all day and nibbling apples when I get the munchies.

Yes...long drives are challenging. We took Kadence from our home in Iowa to Toronto area, Canada last July (she was 8 months old). It was a 16 hour drive. What helped for me was that I had bought a few new toys and books for her which kept her occupied for longer. It was okay. We stopped more often then we usually do, but it didn't add much time onto our trip. Our drive to Texas will be 20 hours, but Kadence is now forward-facing and we have a dvd player in our car. SO...I'm planning on getting a few new toys and books again, and a few Curious George (her favorite) dvds which should help! AND since my sister is going with us, there will always be some company in the back seat for her! I'm sure things will be fine for you and Drew when you go. I think we always over-worry, but things usually turn out okay!0 -

Hello all,
I lost 4 pounds so far over the last few days although when I get back to eating right I usually lose 5-10 lbs in the first week in water weight. That's fine with me since it means the first $20 into my trip fund. Yay!!
It will take about 1.5 to 2 years to get where I want to be but I am already thinking about places to go. Anyone have any suggestions of a place that would include activities such as hiking, scuba diving, rappelling, cave exploration, ziplining etc. I also looooove to take pictures so it has to be very scenic.
