Oh geez! I am never going to remember that we start a new thread on Mondays.
Copied from the last thread:
Amy, don't push yourself too hard. Maybe just some stretches and a little light cardio today. If you can do more, do it, but don't overexert yourself. Your body's still healing.
Bina, I didn't get anybody anything for VDay. The kids and I are going to go to the greenhouse and buy a rose and take it to hubby's office, but that's it. We don't make a big fuss about it around here, other than going out for dinner. It's going to be nice here again today, so we're going to walk up to get C from school, then walk over to get the flower and go to the office (it's all within a couple blocks of the school) and then walk home. We walked so much yesterday that Z said his legs are sore, poor thing. But he still wants to walk, and I figure it can only help work out the soreness. It's going to stay warm until Friday, so we're going to take a walk every day until then.
Have a great day everybody!0 -

Have a great day everybody!
It's ok!:flowerforyou: I live on the west coast, so I get it going a little later for most of you.
I didn't get to read everyone's posts....I had a pretty rough week. I got the nasty cold that everyone else had in my household, and we ended up losing our guinea hen on Friday afterall.    I don't want to go into details or I will start to cry again.
Here's to a great week ladies!:drinker:0 -
(((nicole))) sorry about your hen.
thanks for starting this each and every week! :flowerforyou:0 -
@ Nicolee...SO sorry about your hen. Hope your family feels better soon.:flowerforyou:
@blue- you look AMAZING:bigsmile:
@aj- 30 is such a good goal to have something to shoot for! Good luck w/ the ab's
@KatieM- Praying for you and your family concerning everything around the MIL
@Wildcat- Congrats on the 2lbs. I just hit my 10lb ticker this morning!
@ bina- It's nice not to "advertise" cause people think it's then THEIR business to tell you what and what not to eat. :grumble: and that drives me CRAZY! I even have a couple of good friends that when our plans have gotten canceled that I'm excited, then when they see me I'll be that much smaller. Sneaky.
SO...birthday party on Saturday. Kept my cool, only a very small piece of cake no ice cream. #2 got a fever, now a chunky nose, nasty cough....here we go. None of us have been sick all winter, so we've been waiting. He slept good the last 2 nights, nothing like setting your alarm every couple of hours to make sure his fever isn't getting carried away. Tonight might go different now that his nose is acting up. Will have the couch ready for a sitting up sleep over!
Lost 1 lb this last week. My ticker now says 10!!! Big milestone!
Have a good week ladies!0 -
Nicole, so sorry to hear about your hen!
DJ, yay for reaching double digits! Hope the little dude feels better. Good for you on the birthday treats!0 -
First off thank you all for your kind words and prayers concerning the MIL. Every day that goes by with her still being there makes me a nervous wreck.
I am having the hubby call her today to talk to her. I can't call from the home phone no long distance.
Aj~Nice gift to yourself. You can do it!
Amy~YUCK! Two very nasty ills in one house. I hope that you all get feeling better soon.
Barb~You look smokin', I love the outfit! My fav are the shoes. I am a shoe fanatic.
Bina~Thank you! Try not to worry about what others think. Let them think what they are going to if you stress too much about it then it is going to become a chore for you to live the way you need to to be healthy.
Nicole~awww I am so very sorry to hear that. :flowerforyou: and (((HUGS)))
Dj~Nice job on the cake and no ice cream. Sorry to hear about the little one. Having sick little ones is no fun. Hope he gets feeling better soon.
Stacey~I have decided that I am going to start doing ab exercises 3 x a week (m,w,f) is what I was thinking for now. I will let you know if this changes. How have you been doing with exercise?
Got to run the little one is done with breakfast so I need to get them all ready for the day and start some laundry.Laundry is the bane of my existence.

Hi all! I haven't been around in a REALLY long time. I think I am ready to slowly start back on this weight loss journey. Those who remember me & the whole hip pain thing--I had arthroscopic surgery on Jan 11. I am off crutches & slowly starting to walk distances longer than across my house.
So my goals are small but realistic
1. Change my calories to not be sedentary(which I have been) and start walking around the grocery store 2x a week. Last week I made it through 2 aisles and this weekend it was 3 or 4. Progress but really slow progress.
2. Water--I need to start paying attention to how much I drink. 8 glasses a day is my goal.
Hope you all have a great valentines day. I have 1 puking kid, and 2 more that are not feeling so great. It is going to be a VERY low key day here.
Blessings,
Kim0 -
Happy Valentines' Day! No big plans here, we did the whole date night on Friday. I am watching my friends kids so they can go out (they watched ours on Friday). Our date night was fabulous! Jeff Dunham was so funny, and we had fun with the other couple we went with.
I went out for wine and shopping with girlfriends last night, and I tried on 7 different brands of size 8 jeans...and they all fit!! I was thinking that pair of dress pants was a fluke and it wasn't...I'm so happy!
I did turbokick at the Y today, my 4th class with this instructor, and she told me I should go get certified! Talk about a confidence boost!
Barb ~ You look beautiful!! Love those shoes!
Nicole ~ So sorry about your hen
DJ ~ Congrats on hitting 10lbs!! WoHOOO!
Kim ~ Welcome back! Glad you are on the mend, hope it only get better! Sorry about sick kiddos0 -
Thanks everyone ofr the ((hugs)). I really need them:flowerforyou:
Stacey- I wanted to comment on getting the new house! That's so exciting! Are you moved in?
DJ- YAY on the 10 lbs and I hope your little one feels better soon.
Barb- I love the new pic of you and your hubby!
Kim- Welcome back! I am gald that you got something done with your hip and hopefully that is all you will need to do! ((hugs))
KatieM- I am sorry I didn't get to read about your MIL...I hope it works out though
Katie- That is awesome that you are in a size *8 congrats!
I did another day of level 2 of the 30 day shred this morning. I think there is a huge difference between level one and 2!0 -
Happy Valentine's Day ladies! No big plans here, bought some chocolate treats for the kids and might pickup a few other things for them depending on how the day goes. We had a nice weekend it was in the mid 50's and sunny so we were outside playing for a good 2 hours yesterday I even got a little bit of sunburn! The cars got cleaned out and vacuumed, which was so needed. The sand swept out of the garage was a bonus! Nebraska thinks putting sand down on snow provides better traction..yeah it doesn't just makes a mess to trek all through the car the garage and the house.
I got to the gym today and did some cardio and lifted weights for the first time in a while, it felt good to do it though I'm already a little sore. I weighed in this morning at 140.6 so close to being in the 130's makes me want to push just a little more!
DJ-The 10 pound milestone how exciting! I can't wait to have my ticker say that!!
Barb-You looked really lovely for your date night!
KatieM-I hope everything turns out well for your MIL being in an unsafe relationship is no way to live. Been there.
Katie-How neat that the instructor thinks you should get certified to teach. Is that something you are considering?
Kim-I look forward to 'meeting' you. Sorry to hear you have a sick kiddo and a couple more that aren't feeling well. The stomach flu is so highly contagious it's unfortunate that if one person gets it everyone does.0 -
Hi all!
New here. Happy to see this group and happy for your great results!
I'm tired of losing and re-gaining the same 5 llbs (and never losing more) because I don't stick to the plan. I have a terrible mouth full of sweet teeth. I would love to find some accoutability here, and would be happy to be an encouragment to others. Do you all check in with eachother frequently?
Oh, I have 4 little ones (still nursing the youngest). Love to jog, but that doesn't save me from the results of my sweet teeth, which seem to want to be satisfied EVERY DAY!0 -
Photomandy - Welcome! My sweet tooth was aweful when I was nursing my youngest, it has gotten much better the past two months. I never was much into sweets until I had him, it was a crazy addiction.
Holly - I'm cracking up about the sand. Love when the men folk get ideas about something, I say maybe some sand should accidently find their way into his underwear.
Nicole - So sorry about losing your hen, hugs to you!! I have to agree with you about level 2, I started it last week and it was a lot harder than level 1. Now I'm scared to move to level 3, LOL.
Katie - Sounds like a great date night! Glad you had a wonderful night out, those always seem to keep me in balance. I'm thinking you should listen to your instructor and look into getting certified. That would be awesome!
Kim - Hope your kiddos get well soon, better get your super mom cape ready just in case.
Katie M - How is your MIL doing? Are you holding up ok? Sending you a cyber margarita in case ya need it.
DJ - Congrats on 10 pounds, that is awesome! I can't wait to be there.
AJ - Thanks, I'm bad about pushing myself and I do need to remember to take it easy the next few days.
Having pancakes for dinner, hahaha. It's what my 4yo valentine requested so that's what we're gonna have. He's so excited. Love when they love the little things. It's been a great day.
Amy0 -
Thank you, everyone and believe it or not the shoes I got those shoes back in October to go out the the club with some friends, got them at Kmart for $12.00, can't beat a good deal like that for those super cute shoes!
Good news, we finally got a second car today, tax return came in!!
Now to set the other 1/2 aside and wait to see where we can more into this summer, can't wait! Then all of our problems will be sovled!!
We had a nice time out without the kids, but at the same time, dinner was a little too quite too, lol.
Now that I won't have to worry about picking up hubby from work and dropping him off, I can really work out, and I got an XBox 360 with Kinect today too   And bought Dance Central
Holly-that's great, almost there to the 130s, I can't wait to get there, but I got a ways to go, I'm almost at the 160s, haven't seen that in almost 7 years, well, probably longer that that since I was about 140 before I got prego with my daughter and she'll be 7 here in April.
Welcome all newcomers!! :flowerforyou:
Sorry for bouncing around, everytime I start typing something my 9 month old is getting into stuff he shouldn't or my 6 yr old needs help with her homework,....
Kat-Sounds like you had a great date night tooAlways nice to have those!
Off to go make some dinner. Talk to you all later. Have a good night and anyone who has plans tonight, enjoy and have fun!!Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!
I hope to get myself back on track this week, after having the inlaws here last week my schedule was so off. I got my workout in this morning while #2 was at preschool then went to a playdate where there were tons of sweets. I wasn't to bad, ate 3 small chocolate chip cookies & a reeses but avoided everything else and helped fill up by eatting a sandwhich & drinking lots of water. I will workout everyday this week to get back on track, I decided to restart week 5 of Slim in 6 because I never really had a week 5 last week. So it will become Slim in 7, haha!! Plus I have to starting eatting good again, to much eatting out last week. I did however still loose a little over a pound. Can't figure that one out, must be the breastfeeding. So about 4 more to go untl I reach my 1st goal weight & by by baby weight!
Nothing exciting going on here for Valentine's day. I am actually hoping to get to go grocery shopping by myself tonight, that would be what I want for Valentine's day!!
Well gotta go for now the baby is awake and not happy, have a great evening everyone. :flowerforyou:0 -
This thread is too busy for me.
KatieM, I hope things with your MIL get sorted out super fast. Still praying for you all. And about the laundry -- I just did like 7 loads today myself, and still have a couple in there that are going to have to wait until tomorrow. I hate it too.
Kim, welcome back! Even though I wasn't here when you were here before. Hope your hip heals quickly, and the kiddos feel better soon.
Katie, that's awesome what the instructor said to you! Woot!
Nicole, go you for doing level 2! Although I have no idea what that means, it sounds tough.
Holly, where in NE are you? Feel free to ignore if you don't post that stuff. We just moved to northeast NE this summer, and yeah, the sand on the snow thing is weeeeeird. This weather is awesome. It's supposed to get cold again on Friday, so we're taking a walk every day from now until then!
Mandy, welcome!
Amy, pancakes for dinner sounds perfect! I hope you guys enjoyed it.
Barb, sounds like things have been going super well for you guys lately! I'm happy for you.
Christi, you did pretty well controlling yourself around all those goodies, IMO. I would have been chowing down. And this is why I don't bake! If I did I'd probably eat it all.
I am grouchy tonight. I think it's because of my impending weigh-in tomorrow. I'm just frustrated because I increased my workouts to two per day, and they're not super intense so I didn't think it would be a huge deal. But apparently it is, because now I'm feeling run-down, so I tried to eat back more of my exercise cals and now I'm eating too much. It's not as cut-and-dry as I want it to be. I want to know that if I eat this menu and do that workout I will lose this much and feel awesome doing it. But it's like my energy levels are screwed up and I'm not really sure why. Meh, it's probably all in my head. I'll figure it out eventually.0 -

Thank you and as a matter of fact, everything is finally starting to take its placeWe got a second car, money saved for moving out, will be filing bankruptcy here soon and then everything should be completely done right for us!! I'm so excited.....I thank everyone for all the love and support on here!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

I LOVE my hubby but SERIOUSLY!!! He brought me home two king size reese's pb cups (yep I said king size) and a box of turtles chocolates. What am I suppose to do with those. Trust me, I don't just eat one, I've tried and failed. I guess I could bury them in the freezer and "forget" about them. Sigh, why does he do this to me.
Amy0 -
Morning all!
It's been great to start "getting to know you" through this thread.
Amy, I totally know what you mean about not eating just one!If they're anywhere in the house they call to me until I get them. It's a power struggle. Happy to have them out of the house as of this a.m. Got to keep it that way.
Today is a new day with a fresh start! I'm excited. Hope to have some "x pounds lost" on my signature soon, too!
Have a great day, everyone!0 -
Holly ~ Oooh! A sunburn? I'd love one of those right now, I really miss the sun! haha ;-P So close to the 130s! So exciting! I never really thought I could instruct...all my friends say go for it because I have that kind of personality, but they're my friends! ha! It's nice when a sorta stranger says I could be good at it
Mandy ~ Welcome to the group! We just check in when we can and offer support.
Amy ~ Oh the freezer! That's a great idea! I should do that with the left over snickers from the boys' valentines ;-P
So I honestly don't know how you all deal with more than 2 kids! haha! I babysat for a friend last night (returning the favor for Friday night) and holy cow, I never wanted a glass of wine so bad. They have 2 boys, 3 and 2, and a girl 5 months...who also happened to get shots yesterday. She is normally very good and you forget that she is there, but last night I couldn't put her down or even talk without her screaming at me. Carter ended up starting a food fight during dinner...and there was nothing I could do LOL I finally called Jason up from studying for his midterm (2 hours later mind you) and he was the baby whisperer, he and the baby curled up slept on the recliner while I wrangled with the boys...ok, my sorta vent is over! LOL
Got my workout in, and I'm off to a playdate at McDonalds...at least it's there and not Chic-fil-a...I am not the least bit tempted to eat there! haha0 -
Awww, Amy... I know the feeling. My husband brought me two bags (!!) of mini chocolate donuts a couple of weeks ago because I was having a bad day. I ate them, and then I complained, and told him that while I appreciate the gesture, a smaller treat would be better for the future. He understood, and he's been much more mindful since then. Can you talk with your hubby and let him know that you love that he thought of you, but that it's hard to avoid the temptation if he brings it in for you? Do you think he'd be receptive?
Mandy, you'll be flying through those "pounds lost" in no time.
Katie, I totally feel you on the multiple kids. A large part of me wants more kids, but my sanity is already stretched to the limit with the two I have. I don't know how people with larger families do it. Hats off to them!
I'm currently procrastinating on my weigh-in. I don't want to do it. But I suppose I should. So, bye for now. I'm off to face the wrath of the scale.0 -
Hey everyone!!
I hit an important milestone today-45lbs lost!!!
So about 35lbs left to my 150lbs goal (though I'm 5'10" so that goal weight may go to 140lbs or 160lbs, depending on how I look).
And yesterday my baby turned 2 months old.0 -

Wow this is the perfect group for me- hope it's ok for me to join. I have 2 little ones and I was looking for fellow moms because I need people who understand my struggles. I am trying to lose around 35-40 lbs of pregnancy weight- and I need help to follow through. I ate horribly this weekend and only hit the gym once. Im hoping I didnt gain- and that I will lose some this week. I already quit my diet once... That's not happening again! ( read my profile ) so I hope u guys can inspire me and i love the blog feel of this message board0
-
I live just outside of Omaha. The break in the weather the past few days has been great! Not looking forward to the cold returning.0
-
Amanda, YAY! That's fantastic! Awesome milestone.
Welcome, Skinnyjeans! Glad to have you here. Don't sweat the weekend -- we all slip up from time to time. Just get back on that horse! You can do it!
Holly, we're close then! I'm in Wayne.
I did my weigh in, and while I wasn't down much (.3 lb), it wasn't a gain, so woot! And I lost 1/4 inch off my bust (boo!), 3/4 in. off my waist (yay!), 3/4 off my hips (super yay!) and half an inch off my thigh (freaking woot!). So I'm happy. Not as happy as I would be if I'd lost a whole pound, but happy nonetheless.0 -
Morning All :drinker:
aj ~ great job on the loss, I think the inches are great too that is what made my smaller jeans fit for sure! Although I like the boo on the chest cause that is the one place I am hoping I don't loose, haha.
welcome ~ whatupskinnyjear & any of the other ladies I've missed in the last week or so that life has been so crazy!
Amanda ~ GREAT JOB! I can't believe how great your doing for your baby only being 2 months old, makes me feel like a slacker with my being 4 1/2 month! Although I am almost down the baby weight now but still have much to go before I will be happy.
Well I know there are so many other posts on here but I just can't keep up, haha! This board has gotten crazy busy, it's great to see so many SAHMs here supporting each other!!
I started back up Slim in 6 yesterday, I'm on the last dvd - Burn it Up and wow I've done it twice before but after a break it kicked my butt (and hips) yesterday! I was definately feeling it last night, but that makes me excited and I am hoping that I will see that scale going back down more this week.
Gotta get the oldest off to school, it's Tuesday so no preschool which is kind of nice. So once I get the big one out the door & the other two settled with a cartoon & as long as the baby stays asleep then I'm hitting the workout!!
Have a great day everyone!!0 -
Goodmorning everyone:) Looks like #2's fever is gone, now we are knee deep into nasty coughs...including #1 has it now too:grumble: Oh, well. Moving on...Been up throughout the night for 3 nights now to check on the kids. So sleepy  Don't think I'm going to get a workout in. Just stay under my calories (unlike yesterday)
aj- Great weigh-in!!!
amanda- What a big day!!! 45..you must be on cloud 9! Congrats
Whatup- welcome. This tread does stay busy and very motivating!!0 -
Phew. So glad Valentine's Day is over. It really is a holiday I despise. I ate awful, we did fondue (cheese & chocolate) with fruit, veggies and bread. Not too, too bad but still too much. Now for the rest of my busy week/weekend. I really can't wait until February is OVER!
Nicole- Sorry to hear about your guinea hen. Hope this week goes better for you.
DJ- Sorry to hear about your little one, hope you are all doing better. Congrats on the 10!!
Hi Curlie- I'm new, trying to get to know everyone. Good luck on the water & moving this week!
Katie- That's great you have friends to "switch" babysitting with. We need to get something like that in place, I don't feel comfortable leaving my kids with many people so a teenage sitter just isn't an option. Reliable friends sounds like a great solution!
I did a little cheat measuring today (trying to stay off the scale until tomorrow) and I have lost almost 7 inches off my waist in 28 days! Crazy and excited!! I will do all my measurements when I complete the 30 day Shred Thursday after I work out or Friday morning and I weigh in on Wednesday's! I am so excited.0 -
For those asking (I don't remember) I haven't gotten a chance to call my MIL. She has not come yet to live with us. I am having the hubby call her today (I don't have long distance on home phone). I was thinking about messaging her through facebook but I am a bit afraid that her hubby will see that one so I am not so inclined to do it. I don't want to cause her any troubles before she can get out.
Aj~Great job! I know it can be a bummer when the scale doesn't move much. I like it even more when I am seeing it on the tape measure because for me that is huge. That means that I am in fact get smaller.
Holly~I sometimes wonder if it would be better with sand than salt but then you bring a valid point it is a lot more messy!
Welcome to newcomers!
Katie~ Sorry I really got to laugh on that one. At the point that we are at with children my thoughts are oh what the heck is 1, 2,5 more children to take care they will just entertain each other. I remember when I had 2 though and would babysit others and be like WHAT did I get myself into??
So the hubby tells me yesterday that I should be expecting a delivery. Then last night he says to me "they didn't deliver it today so I guess I will just tell you what I got you. I got you a HRM w/ chest strap." Oh my goodness have I said that Imy hubby?! I have been wanting one of those for a while now. (I just have one of the watch w/ pulse thing on it and HATE it) Now if I could just get him to stop tempting me by buying all that junk I would be in heaven.

I think we could just switch the photo for mine and the message could stay the same. I can't eat just one of them either. And Reese's pb cups are my favorite. In October we tried putting the Halloween candy up in the cabinet over the fridge. That worked for a while. Then I remembered them and climbed up on the counter to get some. :grumble:0
