I know this sounds ridiculous and cheesy, but I love listening to Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana songs because they are so upbeat and peppy. Plus! They are really fast so they force me to keep up.

My favorites are: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Wake Up America (perfect for mornings!)

Search for "Trance" music. Usually in dance/electronica. I find it very energetic and the pace is great for workouts.

I have went through my Ipod and took all my 5 star songs these are my most favorite songs and made a workout play-list of these. They very from heavy metal to country to rap and some 80's music it is the best of the best collection, at least in my book. I have found that these songs have moved me one way or another having being my favorites. I have removed a few but mostly cause they should of never been on their to begin with. Getting fit is an emotional journey and all these songs give me some sort of drive in one form or another. I have noticed they bring back memories from the past and these memories help motivate me and give me that extra push. Some of them are just fun, and get me pumped for the future of being fit. then again sometimes I will just jam out to some old school Huey Lewis and the news! LOL anyway good luck!

Disclaimer: I have a predisposition for showtunes and music we listened to when I took dance classes in the 90's.

    Ladies Choice - from "Hairspray!"
    anything by Technotronic
    Little Less Conversation - Elvis
    Dance Commander - Electric Six
The Cup of Life - Ricky Martin (sounds stupid, but it gets me moving)
Slave 4 U & Stronger - GLEE (they're borht Britney Spears songs, I believe, but I only heard them on Glee)
    Sweat - Inner Cirle
    Mr Vain - Culture Beat
    Jessie's Girl

Can't think of anything else as I've apparently deleted my workout playlist. I only used it for the treadmill, which I've not had access to for a year.

I think you can have iTunes sort by BPM (beast per minute), to give you a playlist of upbeat stuff. Most 80's stuff was pretty upbeat, too, so pick your favorite 80's tunes.

Although I think you have a playlist long wnough to last a year....you could try the Ministry of Sound series....and if you like to run...some contemporary piano pieces somehow work better than trance....
