I tried this with a cup of Chocolate Almond Breeze Unsweetened Almond Milk and 1/2 Tbsp of agave... Delish! I can't wait to make it again tomorrow night!0

oh i am so trying this. i bet the chocolate almond would be yummy also.
I was just thinking the same thing. I usually put a little of the dark choclate almond milk on my ice cream as an alternative to chocolate syrup. Ice cream made from it could only be better than as a topping!0 -
Sounds great, I'll have to try this Thanks for Posting!:flowerforyou:0

Finally got around to trying this today. I followed the original recipe and directions (added cinnamon). Put a bit of sugar free hershey syrup on top, no more than 5 calories, for a total of 40 calories. I was amazed at how huge the portion was compared to a 1/2 cup of ice cream for 140 calories.0 -
YUM!!! I'm going to go out and buy almond milk tonight!0
-
thanks! I'm going to try it in my ice cream maker0

Just bought some coconut milk today so I think I am gonna try making it with that and then add variations each time I make it.
I used to make ice cream with coffee cans when I was in Girl Scouts growing up. This will definitely be something I do with my 6 year-old daugther and my 3 year-old son.0 -

Bump! I wonder if this works with coconut milk?
I've seen comercial coconut milk ice cream in my co-op cataloge. I would think it would taste amazing.0 -
Here's a recipe for a non-fat, low-cal tasty ice cream treat.
Fill a large zip lock bag with ice and add a 1/2 cup of table salt. The salt is to make the ice super cold and speed freezing. It does not touch the ice cream.
In a measuring cup, pour 1 cup of almond milk (I like PureAlmond Unsweetened only 35 calories for 1 cup)
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp of a natural or artificial sweetner (Splenda, Truvia, honey, etc..).
Mix well and pour liquid into a smaller zip lock bag and seal it tight.
Place the small bag inside the larger bag, seal and then shake vigorously for 4 to 5 minutes until the mixture hardens.
Tip: use oven mits to keep your hangs from getting too cold as you shake the bag.
Also, consider adding cinnamon, cocoa or instant coffee to the mixture for variety. Enjoy!
* Add a scoop of vanilla protein and you its an awesome meal replacement!
It definitely curbs any ice cream cravings.
