good luck everyone for next week :) xx
  • Thanks for your kind words everyone. I guess the pressure of shedding pounds before the wedding is starting to get to me, as someone helpfully pointed out on Saturday that there's just 2 months left :P Pretty much wrote off the entire weekend; although I wasn't as much of a pig as I normally am at parties I did get drunk and lose all sort of sense when it came to food after a certain point in the evening :S Back on the wagon today, though not expecting much loss this week as I started TOM yesterday (might go some way to explaining my cry-fest on Friday as I'm always quite emotional just before).

I think this weeks challenge is going to be tough for me as I don't like many fruits, and neither does my other half, so we don't keep much in the house. We tend to get most of our 5 a day through veg. Just been out and bought some juice in an attempt to have a go, but I had no fruit whatsoever yesterday :S

Hello ladies, hope your Monday is going well. This week's mini challenge is right up my street, I tend to try to stick to berries as they are lower calorie, juice can blow loads.... today I had mango and raspberries on my porridge and tonight a few grapes and strawberries. Had an amazing toad in the hole tonight, reckon the calories are a little the low side but had a 30 min walk with a 17lb Matthew in the baby sling.... certainly felt hungry after that.

    Have a great week! X x

wow nikkiws thats really good as its bloody hard work carrying a baby. I used to get really bad backache

    i'm sticking to berries too.

I had a really slack weekend so I'm being strict with myself. I really want to reach my saturday target of 138lbs this week; out goes the suppers and in with the fruit but not too much.

Aim is to lose 2lb next week so 133lb

    Good luck everyone else. :flowerforyou:

Hi all, am very pleased to report I have lost 2 pounds this week, now 157. Completed fruit challenge, although I do prefer the good old veg. Next week I will aim to loose one pound, although I would be happy to maintain as I have lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks.

Eviesmum, I noticed that jitterbug had replied to the fact that you said you couldn't do challenge and said if you can't due to a dietary issue then you shouldn't loose out... so I reckon you should still get the points.

Hope everyone has had a good week x x

Did she. That's sweet - sadly its not a dietary thing. My eating plan cuts out fruit till you are at your target weight (according to them which for me is 129lb) so really I could have eaten fruit but I'm being really strict with what I eat for now :frown:

Might be strange but I think its because of the sugars in them.

If it had been a veg challenge no problem at all

    Hello all

196.2 today so just over 2lb loss this week.
    Fruit challenge completed
Aim for next week 195 so just over a lb.

    Have a good weekend everyone
  • Starting weight: 179.5lbs
    Week 1 weight: 177.5lbs
    Week 2 weight: 176lbs
    Week 3 weight: 175lbs
    Week 4 weight: 175lbs
    Week 5 goal: 173llbs
    Week 5 weight: 174lbs

Here's my fruit intake (I wasn't sure what counted as a portion, so I went with however many portions the labels on the stuff I bought said it was, so even though I had just one smoothie according to my food diary, if it said it had 2 of my 5 a day in it then I counted it as 2. Hope that's within rules!)

    Monday: 2 portions (1 juice, 1 apple)
    Tuesday: 2 portions (1 juice, 1 apple)
Wednesday: 2 portions (2 melon medley)
Thursday: 2 portions (2 melon & grape portions)
Friday: 3 portions (1 fresh fruit and low fat yogurt, 2 smoothie)
    Saturday: 2 portions (2 smoothie)

My goal for next week is 172lbs. Probably not gonna make the 10lbs in 7 weeks thing, but at least the challenge has spurred me to lose 5lbs so far :)

I got the impression she meant that if the diet you are following doesn't allow fruit then you shouldn't loose points. I think I will just say we all did it... I ate plenty of strawberries for you! I am so pleased as my seriously fussy eater baby has just started eating strawberries and grapes in the last couple of days!

Keep up the good work, these low carb diets can be hard to stick to, you are doing really well x

This weeks challenge incase you missed it also theres a post for us to answer to so jitter can see who is still taking part.

I'm soooo sorry that this is getting out so late! I won't hold today against you! And I'm adding a day. Weigh-ins won't be due until Sunday this week. I'm still not sure how every team is doing or how many people are still in this so if you are still in this group please reply to the next topic I will be posting here in a few minutes!

    Week 6 challenge:
Give up 1 trigger food this week!
If you have a food that is so irresistable that you can't help but scarve down seconds or thirds, SKIP IT!
For this challenge just put yes or no at the end of the week of whether or not you went without the food of your choosing. Just pick one food (Brownies, ice cream, potato chips, etc.) whatever makes you turn into a grizzly bear!

Carrot cake for me i loooooooove it had some yesterday tho as my daughter got me it for mothers day opps lol
  • Aha, cool. I shall be giving up biscuits this week then, the delightful delicious devils!

Dont know how well i will lose this week... was having chest pains this weekend and woke up monday to have them worse and left arm was numb so dr sent me to hospital to make sure i wasnt having a heart attack, i sat there thinking hows that im only 38 lol tests all came back ok thankfully but waiting to see a chest specialist now.Apparently where they will hook me up to a treadmill to see what happens when im working out on it i suppose, hope they count the calories i burn! lol
Anyway not expecting much loss this week as i normally do loads of exercise, gonna do my zumba dvd in a bit and see how i go and then just try do that a few times a week till i finished getting my check overs done.
Hope your all having a fab week :)

    Mandy xx

aww Mandy - hope they find out what's causing it and that either its just a blip or something easy to treat. X
  • Oh man, I hope it's all good Mandy xxx Chest problems are the worst; when I was having tests and xrays and ultrasounds done I was more worried about getting the girls out for the doctors than the test themselves!

Not sure how I'm going to do this week either; been doing some exercise and stuff but pigged out a little as well, so probably cancelled out any good I've done :S

Hope they get to the bottom of the chest pain quickly mandy and you feel better soon.

I am having a rubbish food day, chose a big fat dirty burger and chips at the pub at lunch time and a carb laden breakfast. Suspect weight gain may be on the cards this week.

Are we weighing in on Sunday according to jitterbug? Think that will throw things out for me!

Lol stacebob! I love the term 'the girls'
My worst fears came true during childbirth... the dinner lady poked her head round the door and offered me lunch while I had all on show and my legs in stirrups. Oh and the doctor was fit!

Haha Nikki, my consultant was gorgeous too. I was being kept in because of being pre-ecalmptic (is that even a real word) and had to have loads of internals. When the consultant walked in my DP was laughing his head off, he was bloody gorgeous.

He even came and visited us after E was born. Lovely guy.

I was still planing on weighing in saturday :) You never know nikki you could still have a loss even with a bad day sometimes it kicks that metabolism a bit :) I managed to do my zumba dvd yesterday and still alive hahah so gonna do one more again today in the hope it helps me have a loss this week.
I tell you what us poor women have no chance of keeping any dignity what with child birth and all the other various things we have to have done lol.
  • Ha, boobie doobies :P I had an ECG once and the consultant thought my heart rate was terribly high, until he realised that it was being caused by nerves cos I'd got my bosoms out :P After that he let me drape my hoody over myself and it settled after a bit. I'm kinda immune to them now though.

Man, you've just listed Reason#33 in the Why Stacey Doesn't Want Kids list :P

Weigh-in wise, I'm still gonna have to weigh on Friday as that's the only day I have access to scales (well, and today, but tomorrow gives me an extra exercise day :P). Bit mean, really, as everyone else will have 2 days more weight loss time than me, but hopefully it'll all even out by the final weigh in. Can't see me being on track for this week's target, but I'm hoping to have lost a little at least!

Rather glad next week is the final week of the challenge though, as it's my hen weekend! Can't see any healthy eating/drinking going on there :P

Stacey if you was healthy eating at your own hen party there would be something seriously wrong lol you eat and drink what you like :)Do you have a fun night planned ? Next week ill be weighing in Friday to as the Friday night me and my mate are having a girlie night in while the men go shoot there arrows and play at being robin hood lol and i got my name on cheeky little bottle of white, maybe the vodka to and when i drink i get the munchies big time lol then the morning after the night before usually takes a nice bacon sarnie to get me recovered.
Just reading that back im feeling guilty about having a night off ... I need to get out more lol
