Dream Wedding?

Dream wedding would be to have enough money to actually afford to have a wedding where ALL our family could attend. My flowers would be gerber daisies (oranges and blues would be my colors). We would get married on the beach at sunset. I want steel drums and tiki torches. It would be the simplest of weddings but it would be most perfect. I would want the reception to be filled with an abundance of friends and family (oh and some yummy seafood). I've never dreamt of anything big...just of great memories

But our wedding is still going to be perfect because we are finally doing it ♥♥ Even though family won't be here, we are going to visit everyone after the fact to celebrate. Things are still up in the air as to when we are doing all this because he's deployed right now and well....trying to schedule things when you have no idea when he'll be home is tough lol.

I'm most excited about the Honeymoon!! Bahamas here we come!

Congratulations on your soon to be wedding!
  • I had a wedding reception separate from the actual "Woo Hoo we got married!". Married in July, had a reception for both our families in September. It was easier for us to do, only close family was there the day we were married.
Never really had a dream wedding in mind, but I definitely had the best day of my life that was simple and stress free. Married my best friend, had Ihop for breakfast, relaxed the whole day.
If I could re-do the photos at the reception that would be nice. I definitely expected more pictures of our families and more pictures of us in romantic poses. Oh well. Guess it gives me another reason to have a huge party.

You made me more than laugh - you made my night. How about telling him your going to get on birth control and just not take them? Might be easier than taking a needle to all those condom wrappers LOL
  • we're getting married in the woods by the creek, surrounded by friends and family... then whisking away to the Bahamas. I don't care if the details are perfect, that sounds like a dream enough wedding for me! lol

    Sounds very nice!
  • Umm I think it would be awesome if my hubby had actually been at "the wedding" but unfortunately we had to pull of a proxy one (he's in the military) and it was memorable, but basically just standing in front of the JOP with my best friend. I wore jeans and a black t-shirt lol.

I would mostly just like to have pictures or something done of us professionally. Maybe I would like a dress...or at least look beautiful haha. Isn't that what most girls want anyway? Maybe I'll get my wish someday...even though we've already been married over a year now.

I'm getting married July 10 this year. We are having an outdoor evening wedding when the sun is going down in front of a lake. I always wanted a beach wedding, but since we live nowhere near the ocean, I will settle for a lake, lol. My bouquet will be mostly lillies with some roses mixed in, white with dark blue tips. I bought my dress 3 years ago, lol. I picked it out right after I picked him out, haha. I *knew* that we were going to get married, just didn't know when, but I couldn't pass the dress up cause my luck it would be discontinued. And guess what? When I went to get the bridesmaids dresses, I found out that my perfect dress IS discontinued so I am glad that I got it when I did!!!

This thread is making me all gushy and lovey and hot and steamy at the same time!

My wedding...I loved it. Outside ceremony at the Flamingo in Las Vegas on 8-8-08...meaning there were THOUSANDS of other weddings going on at the same time. It made the day feel like one giant party, which is what we wanted. My wedding colors were pink and shiny (meaning the bridesmaids wore hot pink and had rhinestone brooches, my bouquet was hot pink roses with rhinestones sprays mixed in, and the groomsmen had to wear pink vests...they weren't happy about that!). Had lots of friends there, and a great reception venue that let our hosted bar go past what we'd paid for and run the whole evening. We wiped 'em out. I LOVED my photographer most of all. She's fantastic. If anyone is getting married in Vegas, you MUST book Chelsea Nicole. You won't regret it! Yes she is a little pricier than other options, but wedding photos are SO important and is (as mentioned by previous posters) one thing that all couples wish they had when something goes awry.

My dream wedding would be in front of the castle at Disneyland, and then having the whole park available for my guests to ride around and have a fantastic time. But because things like that cost $100K (seriously), and can only be done late at night after the park closes, I'm good. :) Disney weddings are gorgeous, but daaaaayum the mouse wants his money!

My brother borrowed 10K to pay for his dream wedding. (Nothing from her parents.) IF I get married, I'll call in some favors and probably won't have to pay a dime. It will be like an Amish barn raising with all the people who are waiting for me.

Gotta find my dream girl first.

At this point in my life.....any wedding would be a dream wedding. Can't get married on your own :grumble:

A simple traditional wedding in a church with just family and a few friends.

LOL- I'm tempted but i know where he is coming from with wanting to wait awhile longer for financial reasons but reality is if we wait till everything was perfect we may never get to having kiddos, but knowing doesn't stop me from wanting and wishing.
  • I had my dream wedding...Got married in a castle with the drawbridge, fountains and flowers surrounding it. It was the most beautiful setting and on my wedding day it was a beautiful day, just blue skies and the perfect temperature. Inside tha castle we had tons of candleabras everywhere including a huge chandelier above us. My entrance down the isle was perfect, because there was a balcony that went around the room ABOVE the guests. So as they played the music (on a harp) they saw me walking above them... then I walked down a long set of stairs. My father met me at the bottom of the stairs and walked my down the isle. I can't even start to explain the whole thing and all the details- But what made it my dream wedding wasnt just the setting or having my loved ones there.... But that I married my "prince charming" that night :-)

I hope I'm going to have my dream wedding in September...
We've booked a palm house in a park (www.palmhouse.org.uk) and I'm wearing a 50's style tea length dress, as are my bridesmaids and my fiance will wear a tweed suit (if we can actually find a good one). My brother is a musician and he's singing and playing guitar as I walk down the aisle. During the ceremony my fiance's choir is singing. The caterer is making a traditional English tea party and, as we work in the music industry, we're having a 12 piece band made up of pros who are also really good friends. Oh...then we're serving fish and chips later on in the night...
    I cannot wait!!!
The only thing missing will be my parents...because they are being racist towards my fiance...but I'm trying to block that bit...
