oldest son was here last nite...getting his bed (the one I've been sleeping in since surgery) and dresser. had to be out of his dorm by 7pm and then he will be living in a split foyer house with 4 other guys part of this summer and his final 3 semesters at UNI. glad he was here to see his fish tank in such a mess. still don't know what is going on, we have never had a problem. I am concerned it is the town water or the filters on the tank. my mom lost a beta just before Easter, fresh water.
so, it was my first nite sleeping w/dh again. woke a few times and each with a headache...? trying to be mindful today. have eaten well and logged it. think we will be grilling for supper. dh is working so I'm doing some cleaning, modified. it is a very nice day here, so may venture out. weeds a callin'.
push the fluids and get some rest Barb. take care. allergies = ick.

Barb...my heart aches for you...some things we just have no control over. My hope is that you will find positive things to keep you busy and journal your thoughts. I believe in you and I know better days are ahead...one day at a time dear friend.
With dh working Saturday's, Sunday is the only day that is 'his' day....even Mother's day. He and youngest son just left for the farm (in-laws) to have lunch and hunt mushrooms. Oldest son is still in his college town...they are taking the stage down from the commencement yesterday. Hope to see my mom later and my sis will be there too..possibly brother.
I had a better food day yesterday, but kinda caved at supper time. Had too many chips, then I found the ice cream. Water is my buddy from here on out!:drinker:0 -

Sorry things have been crazy my weigh in on Friday 252. Down a pound probably will be up after this weekend. Been non stop, and eating bad, I need everyones prayers, we had to put mom in the hospital, she having pulmonary problems again. Got home at 5 this moring. Sis is going in this morning so I can sleep. Hope you all are doing ok. Got to go so some laundry have no clean cloths. Will check in later0 -
Monday morning..... and here I am at work.
I spendt most of the weekend either on the couch or in bed. I did sleep a lot over the weekend. Could be my body is saying, "Girl, you need to rest." Did make cookies on Saturday night.
The weekend and today is causing me to be very emotional. So ready for all my issues to be over.
Jacque - keeping Mom in prayer. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
Kelly - Dave brought home ice cream on Friday - which was gone by Saturday. Then he got more on Sunday night. Sigh....

been up since 5...short on sleep. dh usually goes to bed anywhere between 8:30 - 9pm and alarm goes off at 5am. my bedtime is 10 - 11pm. On more occasions than not, when he gets up I have the hardest time falling back to sleep. It frustrates me like no other. I am a very light sleeper anyway, and in the am, we have many noises that start each day...traffic, birds, we even have people that mow at 6am and our property is next to 2 different businesses (commercial, and 1 is an elevator/fertilizer set up) so we have semi's, big A's, skid loaders, tractors, etc. I know it's spring and it's a busy time for them. Usually, I would be up around 6 or so, prepping for my bus route. We have a queen size bed and a couple times now dh has rolled or turned to my side and bumped or laid on my shoulder...and its only been 3 nites. maybe it is time for twin beds?? Anxiety?? Another thing I did the past few days is I took off my acrylic nails (yes, picked and used nippers, chewed at) then proceeded to chew at my own nails. Why do I still do this at my age? It is so gross. I do have a script for Xanax, but I never take it, likely expired now. It was there for extreme cases of panic attacks, anxiety. A bottle of 30 and I think there is 29 1/2 cuz I only take 1/2 tab. 1 at bedtime and after an 8 hr nite of sleep I still wake in a fog. It's a dilemma...and now I see this as a rant...sorry gals.
went to my folks yesterday, alone. my bro and sis were there with their families. really missed my boys..
ds has one class/final today at college then he has physical for his full time/summer job working with dh. I will be taking him. want to go for an outdoor walk, pretty windy here. have a good one gang...prayers and hugs for all going thru challenging times....0 -

Regarding our 2012 trip.... my coworker has a Wildwood NJ rental.
She told me for 2012 her rates/availability are not out yet -- expect to be published in September.
What she's anticipating is $1200 for a weekly rental.
She doesn't do weekend rentals in May, June, July, Aug.
Unsure what is happening in Wildwood in April timeframe. Certainly, the beach would be available but HECK NO I not going in the ocean plus no lifeguards on duty. And I don't think any of the amusement/boardwalk vendors would be open.0 -

Sorry was a very busy week end and yesterday was busy at work (billing cut). I am doing good did some yard work sunday and a church fair on Sat. Yesterday I ran around for a 2 hour lunch getting teeth cleaned and dropping off new perscription. I started my meds for the diabeties today. so far so good no side affects.

I got all healthy foods for breakfast and lunches this morning and if the rain holds off I will do my walk on my lunch.
Well big meetings in Conference room today so have lots to do.

Here's to Tuesday....
I found out my work fitness exam is on Friday now. I was asked to test a day early. My initial thought was heck, what's a day I don't have the 35 inch or less waist so didn't matter if test Friday or Saturday.
The waist measurement I will not pass; therefore, I will fail the exam. If you fail one area, you fail the entire test.
The push-ups and sit-ups I don't foresee as a problem. The 1.5 mile run -- maybe if I don't fully kick the allegries (basically can I breathe through my nose? Right now .... not really)
My thoughts are I'll do the best I can. Failing this one means I have 6 months to retest. Then I need to pass the retest or if I have a failing grade again I better show marked improvement.
Repeated failures without improvement is grounds for dismissal.
Last night I went to kickboxing and felt my anger rise towards a particular agency. So when we got to the bags, I let go by punching & kicking the bag will all I had. And it helped me. I left the class feeling great - not exhausted and caused great pain on the bag. I think the bag needs an aspirin or two. Was thankful I had no partner for the bag drills because I'm sure I would have scared someone with the force behind my punches.
I hadn't done the class since 4/28. I took some time off due to the allegries. So I am surprised I'm not sore or was really out of breath during the class.

here's to Tuesday, too....am trying but not doing well. had some fast food yesterday for lunch, candy (licorice, Starburst), then for supper I cooked the mushrooms found Sunday. not even a full skillet, but pretty much divided by oldest son and I since dh and youngest son had 2 batches at the farm. it's a once a year delight, so I am not gonna turn them down. Don't know how long oldest son will be here before returning back to college. He will be working at the university orientating new students, M>F. surely he is gonna want some 'home-cooked-mom-foods'. took Lily to the vet this am. They are going to check her thyroid function (since Rosie is 'hypo' and medicated) and do dental work. take better care of my dogs than I do myself. will get her later and stock up some groceries for the additional mouth at the table....gonna try and do some yard work. boys headed to farm to help grandpa with a deck. high dew points and temps here today. :glasses: have a good one friends!0

Got my walk in on lunch, felt great. I am really going to do this. Kelly just think about your health. I dont want to be on 16 different meds because I am over weight and it is making me sick. I want off of this new med. I am fed up with the up and down scale we can do this. So put the junk food down and go for a nice walk or yard work that burns a lot of calories. I told myself no excuses and I dont care what comes my way I am going for it. Just remember you need to come first. My health has to come first, before my ds and dh. I have been dragging myself around and feeling very tired but I know after a week or two after I get going I will start to feel better.
So put on your walking, running or what ever shoe's and lets get moving Pepper's. :bigsmile: check back later0 -

Yup, at times we do take better care of others than ourselves....
I really wanted to go to kickboxing tonight but a car accident had me detour & go home. It's ok.... he's in funk & I did feel uncomfortable leaving him home alone.
Instead I'm enjoying a glass of wine and doing computer work.... maybe I'll have 2 glasses. He can't drink and there is a large open bottle of moscato......
For whatever reason the throwback pepsi was really tasty to me. I had 3 cans. I know that's 450 calories.....
Sigh.....
Ladies -- one of the supervisors went to Vegas the week after we did. She was there for a week and did a show every night. And she was telling me how she was pushing away girlie cards when the cards were being handed to her hubby. I had to laugh.0 -
Cindy ~ thanks for the motivation. anyone of you I'd hire for a personal trainer or someone to just push and ask me if **I followed thru**. I didn't want to do this, but I think putting my daily exercise goals on here seems to really work for me. I guess it makes me more accountable some how. This has been one of my 'longer' bouts of non-activity. Not sure if the surgery set me back, or if it's a funk. No matter what, I gotta change it. No more excuses!! I need to exercise it. Your positive attitude HAS encouraged me!! I agree, let's do it!

Well, my Lily had one tooth pulled and her teeth are polished and look very nice! Her thyroid came back low too, so she will be on meds for that. Now, to get Rosie in. I'm concerned about her since she is almost 12. This sounds waaay strange, but my oldest son wants her stuffed. Really? He has always been very close to her, even tho he is now 21 and not living here. I told him I would have nice photo of her enlarged and framed...we are not putting fiber in my pugger!
Taking youngest son to his last college final today. Will be picking up some landscaping bricks to lay under our picnic table, and some mulch. Have one more flower bed to weed and then I'm done....for a while. Takes me a lot longer b/c of my shoulder. Have therapy tomorrow. Allergies starting to flare up.

plan is to use 3lb hand wts, but will likely modify for shoulder. the stretch/tone will cause sore muscles the next 3-4 days. If I keep at it, I should be good by Sunday. Hard part is not stopping that workout. Here I go!0 -

Still doing well. Had a rough morning went to get dressed for work and had to keep trying pants on because they all were so tight, I did not gain any weight from what the scale was reading. Then I found out at work aunt flow is visiting again and I am very bloated. I was really upset this morning. It is funny though I am not due until next week but everytime I get a new female client for some reason it changes to them. I have tested this over the last 5 years and it is like clock work . :laugh:
Kelly glad you are remotivated, I feel really lucky having so many Pepper's supporting me and I want to be there for all of you too. :drinker: So lets do this together.
Barb sometimes it is more important to take care of someone else when they really need you. But make sure you take care of you too.
Jacque hope you are doing well, might start doing the shred this week end, but I am doing the weeding in my plant beds this week end first. :bigsmile:

well, I did it. was concerned that my heart rate was low, and fearing a problem with my HRM, but after checking previous entries for this workout, I was right on for the 2 mile walk. It went ok for the 3 lb wts, couldn't do some of the arm raises the proper way, but I tried and just kept moving. The stretch and tone was a little more difficult, but I completed it. It felt good when I was finished, so here's to tomorrow and 'being back'! seeing all the activity you ladies are doing definitely inspired and encouraged me!!

some aches today, but tolerable, no pain meds necessary. had therapy and I guess I have improved a lot since my last visit!! she was so thrilled for me!! gave me a few new things to do. gonna head outside to work in my flower garden as it might rain later. looking forward to supper...salads with lots of veggies!! YUM! oldest son went back to Cedar Falls yesterday, might return again Fri/Sat.
Cindy...hope you are keeping with your plan. thanks for bringing the positive vibes and sharing your determination!! your comment about 'walking even if it rains' took me back to my 'no matter what' days. little rain won't hurt us! hope TOM is easing up some. I use a website that tracks mine, and estimates future cycles. it's usually pretty close, helps me to plan appts, etc.
Barb ~ glad you had a good workout with the gloves! I have some tae bo tapes and some day I want to add them back into my routine.

Mom is doing better, I just found out they might let her go home today. I know she is more than willing. I don't think she liked spending her birthday in hospital. Ok all I need to get serious!! I have let myself go back to all the bad habits. So does anyone wants to go back to the old way of doing challages again? I was looking at ideas to help us help each other. I got to get back to checking in everyday maybe twice a day. To see if this will help. So i already logged in my food today. Will double check dinner size when I get home. I am only over by 81 calories so I will need to incorpurate some exercise.
Cindy-if you want I will start 30 day shred when you ready. How about sunday or monday?
Kelly- sounds good, keep the focus girl!!!

done in the yard for the day. dug out weeds/creepin' charlie around the base of 12 bushes that line our property. then I cut off all the stems and leaves of tulips, hyacinths that are done blooming. ds mowed, so we are ready for the rain I guess. gonna eat a bite for lunch then walk with Leslie and stretch with Denise. :happy:

Well I got a 60 min walk in and feels good. See we just need to motivate each other. Lets keep this going. I would like to start doing the shred or someother exercise other than just walking to get all my muscles going. So I will start doing the shred on Sunday morning then I would do that every morning for the full 30 days. I would have to get up at 4:45AM but that is only 15 mins less sleep and it is worth the try. So who wants to start the shred on Sunday and every morning/evening for 30 days? Even if you can only do it every other day or only some of the exercises.

ok, so during my stretch and tone workout, I felt the unhappy muscles (neck, upper/lower abdomen, love handles and back/bra area). I said TOUGH!! I am expecting to be more sore tomorrow. gonna push thru it and take it as "it's been a long time doing nothing, so deal with it". I know from past start-ups this is all normal...and soon I'll be on the other side! Yup, it's gonna happen. Hey Cindy, I'll join ya in the Shred!! Not sure about every day, and I know I'll have to modify A LOT! So, yeah, let's do this!! I'll push anyone who wants pushed!!

down to 189.6 today. will say most of that is water (like always) and from the last 2 days. anyone else have troubles during the weekend staying on track eating? I have lately, so it's a personal challenge for me. Will try to plan as much as I can and be mindful. Leaving soon to go shopping...groceries and get a few annuals to plant.

I will be starting shred on Sunday morning. week ends are tough to get on computer but know I will be keeping this up if I dont get to check in. have to get up earlier than DS to get computer. No loss for me but I did stay the same weight 200 but that is with aunt flow bloating me horrible this month so maybe have some water weight that will show next week.
Jacque hope you will be joining Kelly and myself on the shred sunday :bigsmile: I will take measurements before I start on sunday, I want to know the inches before I start.

afternoon gang...hope your Friday is going good. helping oldest ds out with his groceries this month...plus stocked up for youngest ds since he will be starting full-time work Monday. the car was packed so full...even the front seat. plus I had some flowers taking up space. will be doing my exercises soon.
Cindy ~ I will measure too. I'd like to get some pictures of my back side (back, legs) too. I know how ya feel on the monthly bloat...just glad it is temporary.
Jacque ~ love the challenge!! I do pretty good with everything else, cept my veggies. Just remember with exercising, you can't find time, you have to MAKE time. make it a priority like brushing your teeth. focus on why it needs to be done.....heart health, energy, better sleep, toning the body, helps blood lipids, etc. make it necessary!!
