Hi All,

I joined MFP just as a way to track food and exercise, however after 20 minutes or so of reading success stories and other topics, I see there is a real community out there. I started my weight loss journey on Monday, I am on day 5 and soar but loving it. My goal is to loose 60 pounds by the end of the year. I have started a nutrition program (that luckily enough my work is providing to us at partial cost), and started that on Wednesday of this week.

I am ready to change, for a number of reasons. I would be lying if I said it wasn't for looks, a big part of it is, I want my self esteem back. I want to be a good roll model to my kids. I want to feel healthy. I want to run outdoors. I want to stop using food as a drug. I want to stop emotinally eating. I want to live to eat and not eat to live. I truly appreciate any encouragment, advice etc.

Happy losing to all!!

You have a realistic goal. You can do it. Make it your passion and the rest will fall into place.

I never thought I'd be as active as I am today. I just started the gym thing in 2009 and I love it. It didn't start that way. The way I made exercise a part of my life was to treat it in the same mindset as being as important as brushing my teeth. Once my mind made the connection, the rest fell into place.

As for diet. What worked for me was learning to limit processed foods from my diet. Just doing that helped me focus on natural food as the best thing for my body. I'll resort to processed foods sometimes, but I am fully aware that when I eat it it's not as nutritious or as healthy for my body.

Good luck and welcome to MFP.

Hi and good for you for making a positive change in your life, I am also an emotional eater and I also not only want to lose weight but want to become a happier, healthier and be the woman I know lives inside me. I have come to the realization not only the 100 pounds I need to lose but I need to lose the keeping emotions inside because how are you suppose to solve problems if you only keep them to yourself.
Good for your for making the changes in your life sounds like your on the right track.
Keep Positive and believe in all you do
