anyone else giving up pop/soda?

I gave up soda for lent. I've always been a huge soda drinker (chugging 2-3 44oz. a day)... I was able to cut down to 1-2 cans a day before I cut it completely. I really miss it already... especially towards the end of the night when my mouth just feels 'blah' from drinking water all day. I crave a little flavor.
I'm drinking coffee in the mornings now to keep from the caffeine headaches. Although its only been 4 days, I can already tell a little difference in my tummy... I don't feel quite as bloated, in fact I feel a little thinner all day! Thats definitely a plus.
The main thing I'm struggling with now is to fill back in those calories with food. I'm still eating the same amount, which leaves me full, but without the soda I have anywhere from 200-450 calories left a day. It's nice and all, but I'm struggling just to get over the 1200 threshold so my body won't go to starvation mode. How do I fill these back in when I'm just not hungry?0 -

I can't totally give it up, but I am really trying to cut down. I am drinking much more water and I also have a sodastream machine so that I can make diet ginger ale. The good thing about the sodastream is that it does not contain aspartame.0

My goal is to give up diet soda. But, I tried to go cold turkey and have been getting bad headaches. So... I am making sure I have a little coffee in the morning to get in the caffeine (to prevent major withdraws) and have drastically cut down on what I was drinking. I am having about 2 a week.
I suffered from the same thing about 7 years back and my dr. prescribed me caffeine pills:noway: it's terrible and those caffeine headaches are NO FUN! You have an addiction to caffeine and it goes away after a few weeks, when I ran out of my pills I just let it go, cold turkey, and I'd say about 3wks later the headaches were gone, then I got on another soda kick a little over a year ago now , happy I quit and no headaches this time, I sorta weaned myself off which I think is what was the biggest difference, and I'm never ever going back, thre's nothing good for you in soda, maybe try making some homemade ice'd tea and adding diet seltzer water to it. I know for me the biggest loss was the bubbles. Good luck!
Thanks! I'll try it. Ooops on posting this twice!0
