I want my kids to think I'm pretty and not the "fat" mom as far as hott...I'm am never gonna be "hott" but cute or ok works for me0

My youngest daughter told a boy at school that I can bench press more than his dad.
I watched my mom during her last year of life walk around with an oxygen tank.
I don't want my daughters to see me struggle up one flight of stairs, be ashamed to introduce me to their friends or have to bury me.
I want to be around to meet my grandkids, which my mom never did.
I want awesome spring and summer clothes.
i want to look hot at 40, 50, 60, 70, and even 80.
Vain? Hell yeah and a lot more!!!0 -
My my name is TRAV and I am the leader of the Louisiana VAIN Nation hahaha
agreed...
Elyse....WTF...you are the vice president0 -
My husband is doing this for health reasons.
Me...ummmm....to be hot in a bikini this summer! (but I am getting all the other benefits as well so its all good!)0 -
I'll be honest and say that's about 90% of my motivation. I want to be hot, not just the girl with the pretty face.
The other 10% is so that I will be healthy when I finally choose to get knocked up! I want to be able to stay active during the pregnancy and continue with healthy eating.
It feels good to be honest0 -

LOL... I guess I'm a member of that club... I'm in Louisiana and I'm pretty darn vain too. I could say that I do this for my health but that would totally be a lie. I do this because I want to look good and feel good. I also get a weird sense of satisfaction from knowing I can discipline myself to do what I have to to achieve my goals.0 -
Guilty as charged, in it for the vanity! I am medically healthy, low BP, low cholesterol, no issues. The most I've ever been over weight is 30 lbs. not including pregnancy. When I am that big I feel invisible. I don't like to be invisible. My mom looked and dressed like an old lady way before her time, she's just now 65. I am not going to be that mom. I have teenagers and preschoolers so I do intend to be around for a long, long time and I am going to be healthy and fit and able to keep up with all of them all while looking fabulous!0

Oh I am sooooo VAIN!!! I admit it! My intention was to lose my pregnancy weight and get back to my old size...mission accomplished! Now I can't seem to get enough....so I made a new goal! Next stop...STRING BIKINI!!!! :blushing: Even as a teenager (when I was in the best shape) I was always too self conscious to wear one....well this time I'm pushing myself to look even better than I did then. Of course, there's the added benefit of feeling more energized and being healthier all around. :happy:0

Word girl! I'm all about swimsuit season!0 -
I'd like to say I'm doing it for my health, but I'm already healthy. I'm just overweight and tired of the fat rolls protruding from beneath my shirts. I want to look good like I did when I was 16-18 years old. I was at my ideal weight then. My health at the moment is great. Bloodwork is fine, blood pressure is fine, no other problems, so that is not what drives me to lose weight at the moment. I just want to be HOT again. So I'm with you, love.0

Dictionary.com defines 'vain' as "excessively proud of or concerned about one's own appearance, qualities, achievements, etc.; conceited"
I think there's a difference between being vain and just wanting to look good. The term vain implies an EXCESSIVE concern about one's appearance, which I don't think a lot of people on here have.
There's a difference between being conceited and just wanting to be confident in yourself. I want to lose weight to look good and feel good about myself, but I am not obsessed with my appearance. I also want to be healthy and live longer.0 -
Hell yeah! I personally don't think it's all that bad to want to look good but then again I don't think that being a lush is a bad thing either. :bigsmile:0

I want to look good for my wedding, so ultimately vanity is a huge part of it! Of course, being healthy and living a long life with my future husband are subtitles to the vanity.:-)

Me, and I don't apologize for it. Of course, the energy and feeling awesome I get from it is an added bonus.0

Hell yeah it's vanity, I want to be a HOT bride...I'm not really thinking about my cholesterol, or being around for my kid...I'm thinking i want to wear the smallest wedding gown I can, and not be the fattest bridesmaid in my best friends wedding...I am doing this for purely vain reasons. I just don't tell anyone lol0

Now that Carly Simon song is going through my head...."You're so vain...."0

I agree with all of the above.. All answers fit for me! I'd like to go swimming in Vegas in October and not be self conscious about not wearing a shirt. So yeah, it's about vanity. I also want to look good, feel energized, and live a long and healthy life. It's for my wife, my kids, my family, but most importantly ME!
If I feel good I will have the energy and ability to make others feel good. Call it vanity, call it what you like!
Just my two cents!
