    The college I attended (this was in 2003) had a all/or nothing plan for heat and AC--meaning, there were no individual controls for either in the buildings. When the main plant turned them on and/or off, then we either had AC or heat. They would set a date each year for when they would turn the heat off and the AC on--UNFORTUNATELY, this usually meant there were some days when it was 75 degrees outside with heat on inside the classrooms!

    Anyway, I had one professor--great guy and very outspoken--who continually agitated to get the situation changed but to no avail.

    SOOOOO... one day he sends this email out on the college's email list to all faculty, admin, and all his students whose emails he had. He stated that until the heat was turned off and the AC on, he would come to school wearing a skirt (not a kilt but a skirt) and would continue to do so until the blasted heat got turned off!!

    The next day, amazingly, the heat was off and the AC was turned on! We never did get to see his skirt :cry:
