Need your advice: I have 2 kids that are 4 and 2, and combined weigh about 60 pounds. I see that you have a jogging stroller for your son. How old is he and how much does he weigh? I think I would run more often if I could take the kids with me, but I don't want to pour money down the drain. What are your thoughts? Thanks for the help!!

I finished 7 miles this morning - felt great considering the 80 degree heat and 80% humidity!

    I know I did better than a 10:40 pace but haven't mapped it yet...So probably around 10:00.....but I burned 715 calories so.....

I rewarded myself with a Robeks MuscleMax smoothie - YUM!!!!! I am so glad that place is not near my house!!

Happy Running, Resting, Weekend Painting and all other fun activities!!!!

    Tricia

Wow!! A 10 minute mile!! You definitely deserve that smoothie!!

Today is a running rest day for me. I will go on an early mornng run tomorrow. Today was a shoulders, arms, and abs workout.

Half-marathons, 11 miles, 7.5, 7 miles... are you mere mortals or are you super women? Way to go!!! You women kick some serious booty.

I may have to give up protein shakes and switch to estrogen supplements.

As long as you know you place amoungst the alpha females, jd, we will allow you to continue to hang with us!

Thanks Shannon. I know I shouldn't feel guilty but I do. I get anxious when I don't run...sound crazy?! I hope that I can push out a long run tomorrow as well. After 2 days rest, I am, at least, going to give it a shot

I bet you'll have a stronger run then usual.

Be sure & check in w/us! :drinker:

(I accidentally posted this on yesterdays blog, it was meant for today!)

Ok ladies...I am feeling really guilty. I have been running every day at least 4 miles for quite some time now. Yesterday when I woke up I felt a little sore and tired so I decided to take a day off which I always feel guilty when I do. So last night guess what happened....WAM!! My T.O.M came on time, a rare occurence since I am in peri-menopause. Running while on is usually not a problem but this time I have such back and stomach cramping and a huge headache. Now I am feeling so guilty because I took yesterday off and I really don't see myself hitting the pavement today!!! Does anyone else deal with such guilt?? I mean I know that I am going to beat myself up today if I don't get out there andit really puts me in such a downer!! HELP!!! How do you avoid the guilt or tell yourself it's ok and mean it?!

Oh my gosh girl, you have to listen to your body! Don't feel guilty, just log it as a rest day and are how you feel tomorrow or the next day. It is not like there are 3 days left to run and then its over, this is a lifestyle change, and just with anything else in life-there will be good days and bad days. I felt like crapola last night, so I took a rest day and I will run tomorrow instead(Sundays are usually my rest day)

Give yourself credit for all that you have done and be in the moment!

    Hi everybody,
Posting this really late because after my run this morning I had to dash off to a wedding and pick up my son from a backpacking trip.....crazy day! I ran about 3.7 miles today with some walk breaks in there. My knee was hurting after a treadmill run yesterday, so I put some inserts in before the run and it seemed to help. I am running so slow but 10 weeks ago I was only walking so it is progress (I keep telling myself as people fly by me). Anyway - good job everyone - running , resting, doing what your body needs. You're awesome

I just went back and read the end of yesterday's thread. Thanks for the advice. I will just keep plodding along at my own pace increasing distance. Humbling but the sane way to go. By the way I really do love my skorts - JD why not? Like a running kilt?

forget everyone else out there buuny and just stay at your own pace - don't let the competitive spirit kick in just yet - slow and steady wins the race!!!
