I make my own ranch and ceasar dressings (but I eat most salads with olive oil and lemon juice only).

    Here are my recipes:

    Ranch Dressing

3 tbl plain greek yogurt (full fat is best)*
    1 tsp lemon juice
    1/4 tsp onion powder
    1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dijon or spicy mustard
    salt & pepper to taste
1/2 tsp chopped parsley (optional but makes it look like bottled ranch)

*if you are not afraid of fat, substitute this with equal parts buttermilk, mayonnaise, and sour cream

    Ceasar Dressing

4 tbl plain greek yogurt (full fat is best)
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
    1/2 tsp lemon juice
    1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 to 2 tbl grated pamesano reggiano
    salt & pepper to taste

These are at least 4 servings for me, less if you like heavier dressing.

My problem is MSG-free ranch. Almost all of them are nasty. The T.Z. Marzetti's or Marie's are pretty good, but my son won't eat anything but Hidden Valley. I tried the organic version and it was disgusting(and I love organic stuff). I haven't tried the Hidden Valley Light, but if I am not mistaken I think it still has MSG. So do the packets.

I gave up on Ranch, and switched to garlic viniagrette.

Hidden valley makes the BEST low cal / fat free ranch dressings.

Hidden valley light - 80 calories per serving (2tbsp)
Hidden valley fat free (my favorite) - 30!!!!! calories per serving (2tbsp)

To me, the fat free tastes the best, even compared to the original hidden valley.
