What to eat? Not reaching target goals.

Hello all,

I'm regularly going under 1200 net calories (I'm averaging 600-700 net calories. Bad. I know.)

Today it's 4.30pm, and I've had 460 calories and done 533 calories of gardening (apparently).

So this means to get to 1200 calories, I've got to eat 1273 calories. I don't think I can face that much food.

What kind of high-calorie foods, apart from nuts, can I nibble on? I'd like to minimise unhealthy foodstuffs - I'm not going to chew on biscuits.

You're all wonderful people! MFP is getting me out of this plateau :)

Fruit smoothie and/or protein shake... combined is really best; it's often easier to drink calories than eat them when you're running short.

    Milk, cheese

Good ideas... I'll see if I can incorporate them into a meal.

I have issues with my mum though - she's banned me from eating cheese in the house so I may need to be sneaky.

For gardening you may want to back out maintenance calories as the calculation for calories burned is total calories burned during the duration not extra calories. So if you maintenance calories are 2400 you would have to back out 100 calories for every hour you workout (gardened) So if you gardened for 2.5 hours and burned 533 you would have to back out 250 cals, using the above cals. and enter just 288 into MFP and eat those back.

Try nuts, seeds, dehydrated fruit, juice, avocado, or add olive oil to your supper to get added calories.

Eat low fat cheese, if that is her issue. :)

Oh great - thanks - that eases the situation quite considerably. I thought 533 seemed a little high.
