How often do you work out?

Life can get so crazy that it's hard to find time/energy to work out. But, as we all know, any amount of exercise--even if it's less than desired-- is a personal accomplishment. It's YOUR time to do something healthy for YOU. So, considering my insane grad school schedule (ahhhh!!!!!) here's my weekly "me" time....
Tuesday: 60 minute Zumba class
Thursday: 30 minutes of a cardio machine followed by a 60 minute Body Pump class
Saturday: 45minute Zumba class
What's yours? :-)

At least 3 days. I looked at your schedule. Add 30 mins of strenght training to tuesday and saturday or change it around. What is yur goal with this schedule; to tone or loose lbs?0
-
Typically 5-6 days a week, depending on how my body feels.
2-3 days is weight training, the other is cardio/pilates, etc.
I pack my gym bag and go straight from work (and pick up a cup of coffee for energy if I need it!)
Also..I TOTALLY know what you mean about a crazy school schedule- I'm in school full time and working full time...the gym is the only ME time I usually get- therefore I am VERY protective of it! Good luck!0 -
At this point my goal is to tone more than it is to lose....0
-
6 days a week (7 days if I don't have a "cheat" day)
I will do cardio and mix in strength training. more cardio than strength though0 -
I workout everyday
Weight train different muscle groups everyday
HIIT 3 days a week
Yoga on Sundays0 -

Good for you girl! 5-6 days a week on top of full time work and school? That's inspiring!0 -
5 days minimum for me, no exceptions.
S, M, W, Th, Sa
3x a week I do c25k, so running/walking for about 40 minutes. And then I try to strength train 2x per week.
Try to spend about an hour at the gym each day I'm there.
It's working! Since I upped my workouts this past week, I've lost 2.2lbs.0 -
Mon-Fri: Boot Camp for 60 min
Sat: 6-8 mile run
Sun: Off )0 -
I'm just getting started here. I have a lot of back and neck problems, so haven't started any strength training yet. Right now I work on the Elliptical machine every morning and night for 20 to 30 minutes each, varying my workout from easy to hard. Somedays I'll get in 60 minutes total and somedays 45 or 50. Sometimes on the 45 minute workout day I'll have a higher total calorie burn. I've just ordered the Zumba dvd series so I can start toning in addition to the Elliptical.0

Then I would ditch the classes and weight train and then do my own cardio or if you love the classes stick to one and the other 2 days concentrate on full body workouts. Bodyrock.tv has awesome stuff. Youtube bodyrock.tv for her older workouts.0

Was working out 5-6 days a week, now only working out 3-4 days a week0

i workout almost everyday...i run and tone. i workout every where. when my boys play hockey, i run around the rink. i steal moments in line at the grocery store (leg lifts...lol...), we'll stop for a treat at tim hortons and while my boys eat their donut, i'll do crunches and planks on the grass...there's lotsa spare moments durning any busy day to squeeze in exercise!!!!0

I don't have school, but I work full-time. I am however blessed, as I walk home (30 minutes) each day and my gym and swimming pool are on the way!
I do cardio at the gym (mostly elliptical but some stationary biking) for 45 minutes on Mondays and Fridays.
Pilates for an hour on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Swimming for an hour on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and aquafit for an hour on Sundays.
I don't always make Friday or Saturday if weekend plans interfere (this week I won't get my Friday workout in).
Providing my physiotherapist gives me the OK on Friday (which is why I'm missing my workout) I hope to start a kettlebells class on Mondays instead of my cardio and maybe body combat on Tuesdays.0 -

Thank you for the advice! I really do love Zumba so I think what I may try is adding weight training before Zumba on one of the days and then add Sunday as my full body toning day. Seeing how often everyone works out is really motivating me. I'm DEF gonna YouTube those videos too....0 -
Monday: 60 min Zumba
Tues: Anywhere from 30-55 mins weights: Either 30 Day shred, or a P90X
Wed: -0-
Thurs: 60 min Zumba
Fri -0-
Sat: 60 min Zumba
Sun: Pilates or off.
I'm guessing I probably should drop a Zumba and add more weight training. Any thoughts on that? I've got about 10 more pounds to lose and it's slow going! :ohwell:0 -
I workout everyday, but I'm not seeing results like I think I should be seeing. Trying to understand what I'm doing wrong, I change my routine daily so my body dosen't get use it. Please help if you have any ideas,0

Love this! I need to start "stealing" workouts during the day!0 -
I do 2 X a day 7 days a week. I have to lose weight and tone. Elliptical in the morning for myself. Walking/hiking evenings with husband and grandson to help even more. At 53, I have to jump in with both feet and convince myself I like this. anything can help though.0

What are you doing and how long?0 -
I work out every morning on my eliptical for 20 minutes (I burn about 300 calories). Then I do some walking 1-3 times per week depending on the weather and I try to do 1 yoga session through the week. I'm losing about 1.5 - 2 pounds per week.0
-
6 days - alternating between running and strength training.
Even on the strength training days I do a short 1.5 mile run.
If I'm going to have to cut a day I usually either replace it on my off day or cut a strength day.0 -
I'm still trying to figure out my workout routine, as it's very hard for me to stick with something specific. Right now I'm focusing on walking everyday, about 3-6 miles a day. It's what I can just kind of keep doing without having too many excuses against it. Plus, I'm thinking that if I manage to lose some critical pounds (15 or so) I will be better off doing high intensity workouts without the strain on my joints. I really want to lose weight and get healthy but want to do it in a smart way where I'm not putting my future in jeopardy of having weak joints, etc.
Has anyone has success losing weight eating healthy (staying within calorie deficit range) and just walking (with no other exercises)?0 -
I can't find time to work out. I work full time, and have many hobbies (knitting, art, shooting) that keep me busy. No kids, just 2 cats so I should not have any excuse for missing out on physical activity. On the nights I don't have something going, I am usually falling asleep by 9:00. I tried exercising in the morning because I get up plenty early, but that does not work for me either.0
-
I find it hard to stick to a solid routine too--mostly because I work full time Mon-Fri then I have grad school on Mon & Wed nights. So this leaves Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It seems like a WHOLE 4 days, but anything I need to spend some time in those days catching up on homework, appointments, errands, friends & family, etc. So, I usually squeeze in about 3 workouts a week but I'm gonna try to push it to 4 and add more weight training...0

Sorry I dont mean to be rude but I work full time, go to school, have a bf, and a social life and I find the time to workout. Having hobbies and going to bed at 9PM doesnt really justify not being active0 -
For me, it helps me to see it has a part of my weekly routine...not as extra. Maybe if you included it as a "must do" then it would become more natural :-)0

IMHO, your body needs a day of rest to recover. I didn't start seeing results UNTIL I started taking some days off. Even if it is just one day. Your body needs it0 -
I work out 5-6 times a week. I also have been taking new classes at the gym to challenge my body. This week I started Yoga, and it's really challenging. Next week I'm going to begin taking Tae Bo and a 24 Lift class. Also, when I get tired of the gym I go and hike for an hour or so. I'm very blessed to live next to the Ocean and I have tons of mountains with walking trails. Also, power walking the beach is super intense. I also hike with my friends and we are going to hike in Yosemite this May.
I've lost 21 pounds in 2 months. A lot of it has to do with my diet. I cook my meals and plan out everything I eat. I don't call it a "Diet". It's a lifestyle change. I started out at 193 poundsand now I'm down too 172 pounds. I started loosing weight before I found out about this website, that's why it doesn't reflect what I have actually lost.
My Doctor has me on a 2,000 calorie daily max. (which Iis more than I eat in a day) but more importantly, a 30 Grams of Fat Max Daily! I truly believe that cutting my Fat intake has helped me loose the weight in a healthy way. And using this site to track my food help me 100%
Keep up the good work everyone. The key to weight loss is not only eating and excersing, but learning to LOVE YOURSELF & PUTTING YOURSELF 1st!

I agree - also without being rude, but we all have things going on. I work full time, sell books online in my spare time, have 3 kids, 1 grandchild, a dog and a hubby who needs my help with his biz, and a busy social life. I love it, but it's busy! I MAKE exercise a priority. For instance, whole family knows come hell or high water, Mama is at Zumba Mon & Thurs nights. I have had to give up some TV time, I guess. You have to decide what your priorities are. Sorry - this is a slight sore spot with me recently - a couple of the girls at work told me they "don't have time" to work out. Hmmmmmm. If you WANT to workout, you MUST make it a priority!:flowerforyou:0
