    Do you have dreadlocks? Nice

i do, sorry i didnt see this post until now... Hi!
  • Thank you, thank you...I just finished 90 minutes of tennis (doubles) and I feel great. I'm going to attribute that to having done some serious gym work these past two weeks. I also took my measurements...that was an eye opener...I've lost a total of 9.5 inches overall and most of it from that lower ab area that is so hard to lose....so I guess I'll just stick around here and keep on keepin' on as some one said in a previous post.

Thank you everyone...btw...gotta love a man in kilts.....it must be the Scott in me

Boy howdy, can I relate! It's been all of 4 days, and I want to be at that "after" place now, now, now!! Ah well, just logging my food has been quite the learning curve for me. And today I don't go to the health club, and it's been raining, and I've been sitting on my duff behind the keyboard for most of the day. So now I GOTTA figure out how to burn some calories.... I am doing the wonderful wife's hair, but think I won't really count that as a workout, hehehe

Personally I'm a bit embarrassed by the photo I took as my "before" photo. Since I am just getting started I don't have an after photo yet. If the differences are striking enough then I'll possibly post both, but for the time being the before photo will not be made public!! Yikes!!

Me and Meatball, April of last year (about 280 pounds)

March of this year (about 245 pounds)

Still about 15 pounds to go, but honestly I'm pretty happy. I would like to tone up, but as for how I look I am reasonably happy with it. It's weird to look at those pictures and see myself as I was...wow....

wow, go bro you're an inspiration.

You guys look great! And I love the kilts!

Sad thing for me, the before picture is where I want to be, the now picture is huge and embarrassing!

I also avoid the camera at all costs, even when I was thin???

    Hope this works.

The first is April 2008 the second in August 2008. not much of a difference

  • I used to avoid the camera too...I really hate the way I look. Inside my head I don't look like the pictures or the reflections. However, I was putting together a photo album for my sons high school graduation and realized that I didn't have any pictures of his grandmother, my mother. She died several years ago and there are no pictures. So ladies and gentlemen...pictures aren't really for us, they are for the ones who love us, like our kids, who don't really care what we look like. Now, I stand proud in front of the camera and let the chips fall where they may...as Popeye would say "I yam who I yam"....now I'll continue to work to make myself love me as much as my kids do...

    Off to the gym.

It is not the difference in your sizes that impresses me the most but, the smiles and the actually glowing of the people in their after pics.

Inspired to glow. (no I am not losing my tan)

lol speaking of tans..i wish i could get more of one. I know i know, its bad for you and the sun is the devil...but i feel 1000% better about myself when i am dark. (ive always said that tan fat looks better than white fat) But really i just want it to hide all of my stretch marks etc... The wedding I am in next month has me in a baby blue dress, so having a tan would help alot...only i am broke and work indoors all day long! Booo!!

me with the tan (not to mention abs) i long for: tan.jpg

Manda has the most amazing ability to tan that I have ever seen. It's like she goes from pasty whitey to red skin indian warrior in just a matter of hours. I am like:

have you tried sunless tanning?? I get my tan from a bottle, and it's much better than you'd think! It's come a long way from the days when it used to turn you orange... :frown:

I've never tried going to the 'spray on tan' places, but that might be a 'healthier way' to achieve what you're looking for?? Just a thought!?!
